Re: 2014 issues
This forum is just awesome. Funny that this is posted today, as we drove our 2014 Overland ~800 miles from Northern Calif. to Arizona today (800 of the first 1100 miles) and also had several UConnect issues. Each problem forced us to pull over, turn off the car, wait 30+ seconds, and restart the car to 'reboot'.
Here's what happened (each safely performed from the passenger seat!):
1) when connecting an iphone via usb (with a SD card in the slot!) the 'button bar' disappeared on the screen, leaving the system 'trapped' in nav mode. The hard buttons for the climate system and stereo still worked, however. The hard 'turn off screen' and 'back' buttons did not. The SD card had a video file on it, so I've since removed it (thanks @emsrescue)
2) In the Nav settings, when changing the icon for our vehicle, the whole screen went blank. I do not recall if the hard buttons worked - we were frustrated and just pulled off at the next exit.
3) After switching bluetooth from my wife's phone to mine, so I could stream music through the speakers, the audio from my phone could not be heard. At the same time, I put on my seat heater. About 10 mins after that, the seat heater and climate controls on the screen would not work. The hard buttons all still worked in this case.... but my butt was sweating until we got to our destination!
Also - since we got the Jeep, in the audio settings, the 'Surround' feature, when switched to 'off', goes right back to 'on' after ~5 seconds
I understand that, as early adopters, we are 'beta' testers of sorts for the software, but it's still a little frustrating.
@SnoFire: The UConnectr site said there are no updates available for me. However, I'm hopeful from what I'm reading here that the that update comes before our drive home next week!
Does anyone know how to 'reboot' the uconnect while the vehicle is moving? Pulling over, turning off car is not convenient!
