2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Theft Alarm

Hey guys I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4x4 Ecodiesel (incase any of the model information is important.). Lately I have had a problem with the theft alarm going off about 5 minutes after I exit the vehicle. Does anyone know if this is a known bug and if there is any fix to it?

Currently I am just manually locking my doors so the theft alarm isn't active, but kind of annoying. It started happening on a drive from florida to NY and I just came back on the return trip tonite, quite annoying.

Someone else had a similar problem.
I think it was the hood sensor playing up.

I've seen a couple of people mention this, they all seemed to have gotten the hood sensor replaced. You can disconnect the hood sensor if you want, but that'll prevent you from using remote start.

Good tips guys the hood is the only thing I haven't checked, wouldn't be surprised if I just need to open and close it or something like that. Not the kind of thing you think of after an 18 hour drive and you get home and the alarm keeps going off.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Theft Alarm

Ok great once I can open the hood I will look into that. Next stupid question. Where the hell is the hood latch release inside the car! I never bothered looking under the hood of this car I never do anymore as its just an engine cover nowadays. And just spent 15 minutes looking for the hood latch release. The owners manual says it is where the fuel door latch release is, and I sure as hell can't find it there or anywhere else?

Anyone have a hint for this idiot?

All the way down under the knee guard on left hand side... Typical hood release location, manual is misleading
