Yep,

The new Jeep is very different. Even the WiTech systems had to all be upgraded to communicate with it.

While OBDII is a standardard, there are lots of varience.

Anyway, yes, the RUN without engine actually running is the common programming mode that is needed when doing WiTech access etc.

So sounds like you are on a better track already.... Devil is in the details my friend.

All I expected was Reading Major Fault Codes and some primary sensors. I picked this one because it looked like it had good support and they would upgrade over time. It did better than I expected. I didn't expect it to cause Fault Codes though. But it worked well enough to clear them.

I have my eye on a more expensive ODB tool once they get the 2014 updates in.

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

I wonder if there was/is a bad batch of ABS modules. I know its not exclusively the issue but it seems like most people are returning with... "dealer said they needed to replace the ABS modules" - Yes, I am making a generalization.

I am sure this has been said before but it would be interesting if we could plot VIN, build date, issue(s) experienced and see if there is a obvious curve(s) for certain issues around ranges of build dates or if its just scattered, no pattern, luck of the draw.

There is an affected date range.

+1

Or least can you tell me if I'm safe with a Build Date after July 14th?

1st jeep is on a distinguished road
I got this today. 3/27 build, mileage is 4010. Love my jeep, have all the usual issues like everyone else, but I'm ok with it. All is back to normal and no MIL. Wasn't there a star case for this? I know about the website for the TSBs but is there a website for star cases? Just wondering b/c I know how my dealer is going to be...shocker. I hate going to the dealer. But will schedule this with my flashes and 1st oil.

More knowledgeable people on here can probably comment on a Star case list/database, but I personally don't think there's great communication amongst Chrysler and dealers with this issue.

I know a dealer near where my parents live that said when they see this issue, they've just been checking the fuses are seated and sending people on their way. When we first had the issue, our dealer just flashed the PCM. It wasn't until after our second & third time that we contacted Jeep, and then had the ABS module fix. I've seen other fixes relayed on these boards as well.

So, not sure if there's a definitive "Issue X = Solution X" that's been put into a communicated format yet.

Ok, thanks for the help. I didn't think there was a definite solution either. How has the fix been with the ABS module (not trying to jinx you)

I agree. My second occurrence had them put in a new PCM. Since then I have only had very minor uConnect issues.

I spoke with Bill about this very early on and he can likely verify. There are a couple of causes and the exact lights and messages are different. The information is there at the dealer disposal.

Bill also knows that after he had it fixed there has been no reoccurance of the problem.... correct Bill?
