There was a tailgate alignment issue but never brought that up as it wasn't touching and the other issues were more electrical/mechanical

It was in several times for the headlights and phone requires service. A couple of times for the sunroof leak and the other issues. Paint was a bit longer as they had to farm that out.

As of the end of November everything that was not intermittent or the alignment problem has been addressed

I only had a hand full of fairly minor problems which most were corrected but I do consider 6 warranty trips to the dealer in 8 months too many. Hopefully that will be it after they correct the temp sensor thing. Regardless I still do like the Jeep and glad I bought it. Mid March Build

-AC not working with remote start - dealer corrected
-Mismatched interior parts - Left and right tweeter speakers were different colors and styles - dealer corrected
-Recall for instrument panel blackout - dealer corrected
-Poor Sirus XM radio reception - dealer corrected
-External temperature readout is not correct - no fix out yet but jeep working on it

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

I had the recall for the dash not lighting up done back in October or November. No problems until today. The wife came out of the grocery store, cranked up, nothing on the dash, radio not lit up, no speedo, tach, gas gauge, nothing. The radio was playing, vehicle cranked okay, but nothing lit up on the dash and radio not lit up.

The wife has seen this before and knew she could drive it on home so she put it in gear and started home. After about a mile or so she said the dash AND the radio SLOWLY faded in and lit up like normal.

Oh yeh, when she got home a parked, she went to turn the volume down on the radio before she turned the engine off. Instead of the volume knob adjusting the volume, when she turned the volume knob the radio was flipping through her presets. The volume knob did not adjust the volume....it cycled stations through her presets.

Anyone else seen the slow fade in from dark to normal for the dash and 8.4AN radio or had the issue with the radio volume knob changing stations?

I have it. 2014 summit. To make it worse I'm out of warranty.. 43000 miles so they charged me to fix it. They said the Christmas light issue is an rrt not a recall. The rrt number is N58.

(edit... the RRT number I had was actually RRT-14-050. Ive linked it in a following post)

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

thanks for the info... they did N58 under warranty. I was charged for RRT 14-050.

I call Chrysler customer serviced to bitch about having to pay and they wanted to argue with me that software upgrades are considered normal wear and tear on a vehicle. WTF seriously???!!! Funny how companies like microsoft, verizon, apple all put out flash updates to improve their products performance and function and Chrysler wants to say a software fault is wear and tear and considered a maintenance item. They whole dash ceasing to function is a bit more than a product enhancement imo. Oh well. At least we can all grumble together. hahaha
