Ditto on all of this...except mine still had thrown a bunch of stored codes, but no active ones so they couldn't find problem. Problem occurred at 610 miles...two dealers checked everything out and could not find a problem..called star groups who said they weren't sure of a fix and to give it back to customer and put more miles on it. They cleared codes and hasn't been a repeat for a little over a week and about 500 miles. Not too happy about spending over 40K on a vehicle that can't be fixed...should have waited till 2015!!

I checked the button on the center console and the Uconnect settings and it was not off. The warning (notice on dash and warning sound) kept coming up every time I had to brake. Turned around, brought it back to the dealer and they said it probably just needs to be re-flashed.

Twenty minutes later, drove out of the dealer's lot and within a minute, it happened again. Turned around, drove back and this time on the drive back, I got the Christmas Tree lights again. I left the car running when I got to the service center to show the service manager and he immediately got me back in my loaner. So now I am driving around in a rented 2011 RWD GC Laredo instead of my brand new 2014 JGC Overland. I did not even have 500 miles on my new car.

I have been working with Chrysler Enhanced Customer Satisfaction group and now, after sending a note to the Global Head of Quality with a copy to Mr. Marcchionne, I am working with a Customer Satisfaction rep in the Executive Referral group. I am discussing the possibility of a replacement vehicle without having to go through the Lemon Law process in my State. In the meantime, the service manager spoke with me today and said he believes they found the problem and have corrected it. Apparently, and I am not a technical person so I may get some of the terms wrong here, there was a metal object in the wheel where they drill the holes for the hub. This was near the speed sensor and because it (or the sensor) was magnetic, it was screwing up the sensors and sending codes to the system. He said that these drill holes are usually blown out with air at the assembly plant to remove any metal filings but this appears not to have been done. He also said that Chrysler asked him to send the object to them for analysis.

The dealer will hold the car until Friday to test it a few more times before saying definitively that it is fixed. I am also still speaking with Chrysler about the replacement but I don't know if they will now tell me I have to take back this car if it is declared fixed. (I will try to post somewhere else my -mainly positive- comments about dealing with Chrysler customer service.) So Chrysler has had my money and my trade-in vehicle since May 30, and my new car since June 19, and I have nothing. Not the best experience so far.

Really sorry to here about all your problems...I think I would be getting a new car promptly...you are a lot more patient than I would be. Hope Chrysler does something for you...a service coupon worth several hundred dollars would be a start. Or take a new Overland on a really long test drive!!!

Thanks. Chrysler called me today and said they will replace the vehicle. Hopefully everything will work out this time because I really like this Jeep (when it works).

I'd really like to see the list of trouble codes that result...

I'll see if I can get a copy of the codes. They told me that they all tied back to the ABS module.

Yes, I have to say that it was not as painful as I had expected it would be (other than being without the car for about a month). Still not finished though, but now I don't anticipate any problems. I think that staying calm and writing to the home office with facts and not hyperbole or angry, nasty words might have helped. That and having problems from day one and immediately reporting them.

On that last point, for those people that are waiting until their first oil change to raise any issues with their dealer, I would suggest you raise them right away. First, you create a record of the problem which can help you if worse problems show up later. Second, you create a record of the problem which helps other people who are identifying the same issue but are being told by service people that no one else is having the same problem. These TSBs only get created when people have an issue and Chrysler thinks it is a big enough deal to investigate. I think I was also helped by the prior reports of similar problems by other people, including people on this forum. Thank you to those people.

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

Just got back from the dealer. Dash lit up last weekend.

They said that the recent star case did not apply to my car. They checked the connector and didn't find that to be the problem.

The car does not throw codes bc the lights are all off by the time it gets to the dealer. They have no clue whats going on.

FYI - both times it happened to me all the lights were off by the time the dealer saw the car. Both times there were codes stored.
When the lights first went out, did the check engine light stay on a while longer?

Maybe they have had enough vehicles with this problem to know its a nightmare to find the problem when it happens. Maybe easier to replace it. It seems most of the 14's that have this issue have less than a thousand miles when it happens. Just my opinion.

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

Help - I just dropped my 2014 JGC off at the dealer yesterday. Same issue on Friday -- every idiot light on that was imaginable. Started it up Saturday only the Malfunction light stayed on. Dealer said ABS communication problem, but needed more diagnostic tests. Not encouraged by reading everyone's problems. Dealer to call Monday afternoon with news. So instead of my GC I have a Chrysler 200 --big difference. Any encouraging news would be appreciated.
