Thanks. I have been "lucky" in that after they reset the system I've had no further issues, including a 400 mile RT trip up to the Poconos. The part arrives tomorrow- fingers crossed that's the right fix and I can fully enjoy my Jeep again!

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

I posted back in June, before purchasing my Jeep, asking if i should buy. 2600 miles yesterday, and now christmas tree issue in all its glory. Guys at Bill Luke in Phoenix are saying their Chrysler rep is indicating ABS replacement needed. Of course it is back ordered. I'm with the people above, and prepping for my lemon law case. I'm going to write a letter tomorrow, and obviously start documenting the issues. I'm guessing this is only the beginning of my Chrysler fun house. Should have gone with my gut, and not purchased anything from Chrysler.

Sure you can take it that way, but as I have said in this thread before not all of these are the exact same issue. "Christmas Tree" does not describe which lights were on specifically.

However seeing as everyone who has had this issue in the last few months has had a reasonably quick resolution and no reoccurrence, I wouldn't be as instantly worried. Documentation is good but I think you will get a reasonably quick resolution on this.

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

I have a 2014 Limited, this happened to me after 1500 KM. I immediately went to the dealer as it was 4:45 and they were more interested in going home.
Went to the dealer the next day as all the warning lights cleared, except for engine light. As it was Saturday and I refused to leave until a Technican looked at it.

They said the code indicataed a sudden stop...Ha Ha not true. They cleared the engine code.

Well that was just not cool of them. Of course it indicated a sudden stop.... one speed sensor read 0 while the others were still moving. They may need some help understanding how abs works.

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

Add another to the "Christmas Tree" issue. Have almost exactly 1000 miles on it. All service lights came on and speedometer was blank... pretty much same issue as everyone else. Called the dealer and they said as long as the check engine light isn't flashing it was still ok to drive. I already have an appointment next week to get the radio replaced, so they are going to look at this issue then as well.

I also have a May build. I wish I would have read this forum before buying and I would have made sure I got a later build date.

My Christmas Tree issue in more detail was, a bunch of warning lights on(abs, airbag, check engine, you name it), and speedometer showing nothing but dashes. I pulled over several times and turbed the vehicle off, and it started up with the same issue. The next morning the issue was gone, with only the check engine on.

The thing that worries me, is that this IS a safety issue. And you combine this issue with the fact that my vehicle has actually shifted to neutral on its own 3-4 times, while I'm on a major arterial street...I have lost my confidence, and would tell anyone looking to buy this vehicle to pass. This is why Chrystler is the documented worst reliable vehicle maker in the world.

OK, well as I was speaking in facts while trying to assist people with a solution and you are clearly posting 100% false information.... you won't be getting any help from me on this.

Please provide some factual body that would back up your claim. I am not even a Jeep or Dodge owner and I am going to call BS on this one. There are definitely lower quality vehicles out there. The Cadillac Escalade I am driving this week is of lower quality build.

So please enlighten us.

He's probably just angry. Shifting into neutral while driving is really really scary.

Chrysler isn't the worst. That distinction belongs to Land Rover. Chrysler is 26th out of 32 brands. Dodge is second worst. Jeep is fourth worst (29 out of 32), just above Mitsubishi.

Keep in mind, this is for model year 2010 vehicles. Owners are surveyed about the last twelve months of use for their 2010 model vehicles. It will be a few more years before we see whether or not FIAT's ownership of Chrysler/Jeep has resulted in any tangible improvement in quality. I bet they will climb a bit, but still be pretty far below industry average. Even Kia/Hyundai, who are generally regarded to be much better than they once were, are still pretty far down the list.

We almost took a chance on another VW. After seeing this list, I'm glad we didn't. Audi/VW looks like they're still having issues.
