I bet the correlation is just starting to present itself. I foresee a communication to dealers or a revision...

Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

Been waiting for the dealership to come up with a fix for the cruise control that has many occasions not restored after "cancel" has been used and requires engine off/on to reset. The service department are, when parts arrive(known about this issue for months) changing the selector panel on the steering wheel. I don't believe this is the fix and has more to do with the throttle position switch and the null area out of the idle position on my vehicle as most of the failures occur when restoring with light throttle application but vehicle speed around 100kph. Have used the battery disconnect method, which works for a while but eventually the problem returns.

Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

Wonder if it could also be the brake switch. I seem to remember reading about someone else (dont know year) where the brake switch was being activated ever so slightly and thus wouldnt allow a restore or set.

Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

Thanks for the info TurboRush, not eliminating any causes for this fault as I have heard about the throttle/brake switch disagree error diagnosis but usually this comes with a fault code "they" tell me. No code NO PROBLEM attitude, have been able to demonstrate the failure to the service department and now finally the switch panel is going to be changed (no date yet). Think "they" are lost with some of the faults on these vehicles and just wait for JEEP to figure it out hopefully.

Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

I had similar problem with Nissan Navara and the cause was a faulty/sticking brake pedal switch.

Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

I have a 2014 JGC with a different cruise control (non-ACC) problem. If I'm cruising along at 45 and push and hold the Set/+ button (to speed up) the cruise control shuts off. It feels like it does this just as it is about to or starting to downshift. Oddly, it only seems to do this with ECON on (and not at other speeds I tested). Any thoughts??

Cool Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

I experienced a CC problem today. Cruise control on, push "set -" and a notice appears stating cruise control is unavailable /service required. Stopped and started the car and it worked as expected, then started doing it again. I had to switch the cruise control on and off several times for it to start working again.

Anyone seen this? Is it a known issue with a fix?

Given how new it is I would think (expect) that it has the latest software and patches loaded.

GC MY14 CRD Overland, picked it up on 23 Dec 13.

I've seen this on mine too. Looks like it gets cobfuse when there is a car in front, saw this in another topic and kinda confirmed doing some tests... This never happens when the road is clear in front of me but does happen from time to time when theres cars ahead...

not quite sure the explanation though

Service department replaced switch panel on steering wheel for cruise control and did update for transmission. No further problems with cruise control, shift pattern with transmission greatly improved with progressive throttle movement and no flat spot. Great Effort Jeep, THANKYOU.

ACC or non-ACC? Some with ACC have seen this if the lense in the front was slightly misaligned, got knocked out of place. Take a look at it and make sure everything looks square and true, nothing blocking or covering the lense.

Re: 2014 JGC Cruise Control issue

I finally disconnected my battery to reset the cruise control as I was taking a trip up to Harvard University for a lacrosse game. Disonnected it for 15 minutes, reconnected it and I was back in business. Took trip from Long Island up to Harvard University . Round trip was about 500 miles averaged 20.7 mpg in my 5.7 limited. Some local driving up there mixed in as well.
