Re: 2014 JGC Overland Issues

Sorry for my absence Ive been slammed lately at work. Here's a quick update.

Ive been going back in forth with Jeep customer car, and I am left feeling like there isn't a single competent person there.

After relaying my concerns with the vehicle, and explicitly saying "I no longer have faith in the reliability of this vehicle", Jeep thus far has refused a buy back or swap for a new vehicle. After that they first offered a 100k full warranty, not just drive train. I pressed the buy back issue again. I got another phone call today, and that rep said "they would document the issues and try to work with me in the future if the events reoccured". Wait, WTF? First I am offered a full warranty now you're telling me Jeep will document issues? I don't think so. I told them I was planning on buying out this truck after my lease is up, but now I definitely will not. I will be trying to break the lease if this continues.

So far, like I mentioned in the original post, issues are this.

Power steering pump blew at 2-3k miles
Trans shifting issues
CEL came on for emissions
Cluster fried itself
Rear driver side door lighting does not work (Harness was unplugged from factory)
Interior dome light switch rarely works

Now the first day I drive it since picking it up from the dealer, the fvcking CEL comes back on. And on top of that, my trans is now making a howling sounds while driving, only when my foot is off the gas. As soon as my foot is back on the gas, it stops.

SO, its going back to the dealership asap and Im close to telling them to just keep it. Not really sure what else I can do at this point. I believe lemon law only applies to a fault that occurs three times or more with no fix. Is that correct?

Thank you to all who have provided any input, I really appreciate all the help.

Best wishes,
Andrew

Official Lemon Law, yes. But a lawyer who works with ISG might be able to get you out of the car before official Lemon Law status kicks in, depending on circumstances. These are not simple "console needs flash" or "Transmission TSB" issues. It sounds like your car has more issues than that, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a lawyer could get you out of it, especially since Chrysler has basically acknowledged that you've been tremendously inconvenienced, just by the fact that they offered you 100K warranty.

That's something new that they weren't offering before my buyback happened. Must have been an internal memo because I'm seeing that a lot on the forums now. Sort of "offer 100K warranty and see if they bite." Way cheaper for Chrysler to just offer a 100K warranty and just hope that the local dealer fixes any issues you might be having right now. But as I said, you might still be able to get out of the car before Lemon Law kicks in. If you've had it with your dealer now, might be the time to call. There are a million ones online. My lawyer wasn't any better than anyone else I don't think, but he was a lawyer on the other side for GM before he went to the consumer side. He said he did buybacks for lots of folks before Lemon Law eligible.

If you want the firm's number, PM me. Cheers, and good luck.

Re: 2014 JGC Overland Issues

Quick update. Jeep Customer Care called back and want me to know they'll be taking care of the truck when it goes in to get fixed. I replied with "Yeah, because its 6 months old and under warranty". Truck is going in tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

If nothing really happens here, I'll definitely PM you for the contact of that guy. I really appreciate it.

Best wishes,
Andrew
