If the switch is on A do the LEDs act as DRLs? Does the car need to be in drive for them to turn on?

Yes and yes.

When in Auto, the LEDs are DRLs when you shift into drive (and release the parking brake). Shift back to park and they turn off.

Thanks. I was wondering why they weren't on, but I wasn't in drive.

I can't believe people stress over such trivial things :P
You don't even see the car indicate from inside and I personally wouldn't pay attention..

From that video it's clear why they have made the rules they have, it was very difficult seeing the indicator in the same housing as the light.

Know I'm probably the only one that see's it this way, but someone's gotto be the devils advocate

You miss the point. If the DRL shuts off the directional will show up better. That's a good thing.

But the person driving the Jeep, being so self important, is afraid that the person facing them will not perceive them to be as cool as they think they are.

Some of us are legends in our own time ... I mean legends in out own minds.

Re: 2014 LED DRL off when Signaling? Anyway to change it

I keep my lights in Auto all the time, never touch them... and mine don't seem to do this at all. I can see my lights in the relection of the car in front of me most times, and both are still on and bright while indicating a turn.

Re: 2014 LED DRL off when Signaling? Anyway to change it

I think something is wrong then. My Jeep's been on A since I took delivery and the LED always shuts off when the signal is on for that side. Only time lights don't turn off are when the headlights are on due to being in a shadow or the sun setting/set.

That might be my issue. I have been looking to see if this happens, and its either been raining (wipers automatically turn on the lights) or at night. I will try in sunlight as soon as we see some around here...

Ok, that thread didn't help much. It's just a video showing the light mod, but there is no write up or explanation of how he did it.
