Supposedly this transmission has to learn our individual driving habits and should mellow out once it's broken in..no pun intended.

A few reviews of people having small issues that will be covered under warranty compared to others that have theirs with no issues. This is going to happen with almost every vehicle. If you need convincing, then you might as well look at the next vehicle..just my thought.

Yes, that makes sense.......the problem is.......I can't find a "Next Vehicle" !!

I have gone through Acura, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Cadillac and nothing is jumping out at me. I am in Love with the Summit and can't get it out of my mind. I look at pictures of it every day and night !! Just afraid to make a mi$take I will regret.

I understand, that is why you have a warranty. Tough choices and money to burn..if you have a great dealership then they can make any issues easier.

The thing about the $50,000 GC is that it is the same quality as the $30,000 GC. The Summit may get some upgrades and options, but the majority of the car is built with the same parts, with the same attention to detail.

Not saying these problems are acceptable in a $30,000 car, just that the extra 20 does nothing to prevent them.

I wanted a used C6 Z badly as a play toy but b/c of the problems I am looking at a C5Z. Not as good looking or as powerful but still just as much fun and about half the price(used).

Well, besides the tailgate rattle I've not had a single issue with mine so far and I love driving it.

If you're willing to look at Camaros then I can wholeheartedly recommend the ZL1. It's a fun, fun car. And Chevy is even covering track days under their warranty.

The service is very different from Lexus and Acura, you have to remember Chrysler/Jeep is a mainstream brand, not a luxury brand, so service is more similar to Ford or Toyota. Dealers vary, and I'm sure some dealers have loaners but its not a mandate from the manufacturer and its not a typical thing.

My dealer is competent, and clean, but the overall level of service is not as high, as you would expect being in the dealership of a non-luxury brand.

This is true of every local to me Jeep dealer.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Jeep. The Jeep is a very high quality vehicle, its solid, materials and switchgear are nice, it rides great, drives great. I enjoy driving it after getting out of my $60k Lexus, and mine's not even a Limited let alone a Summit. Its just don't expect it to go 150,000 miles and never have any little issues as your Acura did. In a lot of ways its much nicer than your Acura, but having realistic expectations is important.

You have these issues with BMW, Mercedes, Audi. Doesn't mean they aren't high quality vehicles, they just have common areas of concern.

I would buy the Jeep again without hesitation, I just don't expect perfection. Switch goes bad on the Lexus I get pissed, switch goes bad on the Jeep I go "Meh, they can fix it at the next oil change"...if that makes sense...

Well said SW. I have the 14 jgc overland and the '13 Lexus gs350. Something like moisture in my jgc headlights and I said "ehhh, get it at service..." But something w the Lexus and I'm up my wife's a$$ to get to the dealer yesterday. Lexus is my relax and enjoy weekend ride and when I'm in it I want and expect perfection. My jeep while awesome is always dirty (work truck) and I'm always on phone or something so I'm not exactly appreciating the full driving experience.

Re: 2014 Overland at 750 miles

The only time a failure pissed me off on the Jeep was when cruise control failed for a second time at the start of a 400 mile trip...
