Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I noticed that the base of the bracket (mine as well as everyone's I've seen) is scuffed.

This bracket did serve a function at one point that protected or held the assembly in place. Job done bracket - enjoy retirement!

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I removed both the bracket and the bolt.
Does not having the bolt back in place hurt the car in any way?
Wanted some feedback before I get back in there to put the bolt back on.
Thank you.

I did not put the bolt back in. There is no purpose for it.

If you take it to the dealer just have them pull up the STAR Number and they should be able to do it in 30 minutes or less.
Well done, MajorTom. Thanks for pursuing the problem and posting the info for all of us!

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I am not an expert on the vehicle but after performing the bracket removal, I discovered this is a rather large bolt so there is probably a very good reason for putting it back in (probably holds other components).

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Since this was released on 4/4, was it removed during assembly after that date? Just wondering if I should have them remove before delivery. Or if it wasn't even put on mine that was built on 4/6.

10 days from figuring it out to change in production change, unlikely. You car will still have it.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I tried to remove my bracket yesterday and it as already gone. I don't know if this was done at the factory or dealer before I took delivery.

If it was at the dealer there should be a record in your VIN's history.

Was there a bolt left?
