Are you saying you have the noise, but no bracket?

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I thought I heard a noise but it was only one time. Could have been the road or something.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Buying a new vehicle always makes me hear strange noises! Some are real, some not so much!

I had the same experience on my Overland. It has a different sounding rattle around 1500 rpm when in the upper gears but the bracket isn't installed on mine either.

Are you sure the bracket isn't in? Post a pic if you can.

(BTW, I did replace the bolt back into position)

Thanks lexa. I just put my bolt back in after work. I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry sooo glad the sound is gone!

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I removed the bracket per the instructions and reinstalled the bolt and the noise is still there around 1500 RPM as celder3 describes. it sounds like a plastic piece vibrating in the dash somewhere. Sounds like it could be in the HVAC or a vibrating shroud near the air intake. Only guesses...

The noise is quite noticeable.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm not too worried about it. Lots of people have the problem and lots of dealers will be on it. It only takes one to fix it.
Same here. Not too concerned by it. It's definitely mechanical vibration. Seems to me that means something's loose. It'll get fixed. So far, that's the only issue I've had with the jeep. <knocking on wood>

Edit: I didn't realize the case had been solved! Now the question is: do I take the jeep back to the dealer or should I just remove it myself? I don't want to screw anything up, specifically the trim while trying to get to the bracket.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Got it out. Lost a little skin on the vent while trying to untorque it a bit. Nothing unusual with those sharp edges. My first truck mod. Bring on the big stuff now!

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I saw a member post a solution on another thread where the dealer found a coolant line vibrating against the block which corrected his issue. I will double check mine this weekend and see if I can find anything obvious. I will post pics if I find resolution.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Just thought I'd revisit this thread about the steering column bracket noise because Jeep issued a tsb today!
