Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Thanks for posting Jacko15. My issue was resolved by adjusting the heat shields in the center tunnel directly under the center console. The noise was transmitting through the floor which made it sould like it was coming from the steering column/under the dash. The thick foil heat shelds comes in multiple pieces and two were very close together and under certain RPM's (~1400- 1500) they would "buzz". Sounds like there may be multiple issues causing the same symptom. Sounds like the potential fixes are simple enough.. Mine was a DIY...

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

So many issues with 2014 JGC Limited its not funny...I have 800+ miles, had it for less than a month and have taken it to the dealership 3x already. American made...nuff said. I really disappointed and feel ripped off. A for he annoying sound from the steering column (I already removed the buzzing bracket). Here is the newest of the annoying noises:

I took my car to the dealership and they fed me some bs that its an electronic issue due to the tech package I have....I spoke to the GM who I know and he is sending the actual Chrysler technician out to take a look after his service guys failed o provide a real solution. I'll let you guys know on Mon or Tues what happened... I have a feeling that nothing will come out of this...

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Just purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the Luxury Package II. I also have a buzzing sound Which sounds like it's coming beneath/behind the steering wheel. I took it back to the dealer and they could not hear it...selective hearing. Anybody find a solution? Driving me nuts for as much as this SUV cost!

If the noise is a buzzing/ringing sound then there is a tech bulletin specifically for that. It has to do with a loose bracket which they can easily remove. If you are hearing a high-pitched beeping sound, that sound is a result of the power steering motor which is an electronic motor. I have taken my concerns to the highest level at Jeep Chrysler and there is nothing that they can do in order to fix the high-pitched beeping sound. I spoke to the corporate service technician and they informed me that they are aware of this sound but they describe this as a normal sound and there's nothing that they can do in order to fix this. I complained so much that they ended up switching out the existing power steering electronic motor for a new one. However even with the new electronic motor there is still a beeping sound. The problem is that the electronic power steering motor is an engineering flaw. One would hope that the cabin inside the jeep would be quiet considering the amount of money spent on these jeeps, However Jeep Chrysler doesn't seem to care about the customers concerns just concerned with pushing their product. Sorry to tell you that there is no real answer to this problem. I have spoken to just about everyone at Jeep and no one is able to provide an answer... Because there is no answer...the electronic pump that jeep makes unfortunately makes this sound in order to operate.

Thanks fo the reply on this issue! I'm with you on the fact the vehicle's interior should be as quiet as possible! I'll see what my dealer says about the pump.
