Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I logged a case with Jeep as well but have not heard anything yet. I'll keep everyone posted. I have just over 600 miles on 2014 V6 Overland and the noise still occurs every day. Some days it lasts longer than others and one day lasted minutes. I was driving around a parking lot looking for a spot so the RPM's were really low and the rattling seemed to never stop.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

So has anyone tried rolling down their window when it occurs to see if its louder on the outside than the inside?

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

It is definitely from outside the cabin but I'll try to roll the window down.

I also find it odd that the new transmission pick 8th gear at such low speeds ~45mph. The problem has so far always happened when the car is running at about 1,200rpm.

Chrysler called me today and asked if I took it to the dealership (which I responded, again, yes but they couldn't replicate it in a short drive). They asked me to consider leaving the brand new Summit at the dealership for an investigation period to which I responded with all due respect you are crazy. 5 mins at the shop puts more damage on the car than one year of use. 5 days on a $55K+ will just create to much unrepairable damage.

They are supposed to call me back tomorrow.

There is terrible internal communication at Chrysler. One tech could probably figure this out in a couple hours if the right people talked to each other.

If they couldn't replicate the noise, what were they supposed to communicate to Chrysler?

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

The video recording I provided and the conditions for the ocurrence. Just normal issue resolution communication. None of that seems to be happening.

Ok, didn't connect the dots. Didn't realize you had the video. That should be enough to have the dealer log a case with Chrysler. Might mean more coming from them.

Yes, the service seems poor, but coming from a Lexus, I didn't expect much from Chrysler. On the other hand, the lexus grand Cherokee overland equivalent is about 75k. All that extra money doesn't just go into the vehicle itself.

I know. I hope they can fine tune the service while keeping this great feature set and price point. Short of that I would prefer to pay a premium for better QA and customer service.

Took a video/audio recording of the noise today to my dealer. Played it for the service manager and she was definitely concerned. Told her she might try a couple other 2014'a out as well. Gave her the parameters as to when it is reproducible. They have a tech that likes noise challenges. Taking it in on Thursday to let him have a listen too and then see if he can find it. If he finds it they will report to the home office. They will also escalate to them as well with what I have already provided to them.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

Fingers crossed. It is happening on so many vehicles that it is indeed concerning.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I test drove a 2014 and it had the noise. It was noticeable immediately and never went away. What a joke.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I purchased 2014 Overland V6 4X4 on April 3rd. I am also hearing the noise at various speeds... I really hope they or we find solution to this problem quickly. It's quite annoying...
