In a way it is better than being the only one. This at least gives Jeep more of an incentive to get to the bottom of it.

I hope that everybody who has the problem is notifying the dealers asap instead of waiting for regular service interval. Get it on the map earlier rather than later.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

A day of big recalls for Chrysler today. Hopefully this problem won't lead to one but I agree with other posters that it is becoming quite unacceptably bothersome.

Re: 2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

I found this thread about a rattle in the steering column. I posted the youtube link there and asked if it was the same rattle we are hearing.

REALLY annoying rattle in steering column

Is this problem only on the 2014 Grand Cherokees? not on any 2013 or previous years?

I cannot answer that myself but you can add me to this list. Got my '14 Overland V6 about 2-1/2 weeks ago with 6 miles on it. Has almost 500 miles now. Heard this buzzer twice so far, both were low RPMs around 50-55 mph.

I have the same noise in my overland. Almost always at 1700 rpm.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm not too worried about it. Lots of people have the problem and lots of dealers will be on it. It only takes one to fix it.

Yeah I figure that Jeep should have this worked out in about three years or so. There QC is awful and the dealer provided service is worse. It truly is a shame that after all the hoopla brought about by Marchoni that the quality of Chrysler is changing the same BULLSHIT still occurs.

This problem is specific to the 2014 model but don't worry the 2011 -2013 models have their own long list of problems that they just now starting to find fixes for.{smoking on startup, shock noise, premature ql failure, etc.}

Just got done at Kahlo Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep in Noblesville, IN. There is a Chrysler Star Case number for this issue. S1323000022. The earlier post about a loose bracket is exactly what they found in mine and that is what the Star Case refers too. Go to your dealer (or come to mine) and have them look up this star case number. Haven't driven it yet, but it quit doing it per the tech once they removed this bracket which was just hand tightened and over time had come loose enough to vibrate when at specific RPM and speed. Hope this will be the fix for the rest of you! Included is a photo of the bracket in question!!

Is this something we can do it at home? Tightening this bracket that is. Where is the exact location of this bracket? Thanks.

Sweet Mary I hope you are right!

Would you mind posting a follow up note confirming the following:

1- Your problem sounded the same as the youtube link I posted
2- It was happenning daily
3- It is not happening anymore after you drove it

1. Exactly the same as you posted.
2. Happening every time I drove it.
3. Will follow up with question 3 a bit later as I am stuck waiting for the Insurance company to send the appraiser for the hail damage on the hood
