I would stick to your guns. White smoke can mean several things, but one of them is coolant leaking into the cylinder. Bottom line is that you should not get smoke like that, and it is a warning sign of something that will likely be a bigger problem later. I would try contacting FCA directly and tell them the situation (be nice). If you like the vehicle and want it fixed, that is your best bet at getting a resolution. Otherwise go for the lemon law buyback.

Have been in contact with FCA and was assigned a case worker. They had a start Tech look at the car and replaced one fuel injector. That did not work. Its been in the shop for a total of 35 days .Thanks for the input.

Yucky.

Does it only do it at startup? If so my inclination would be head gasket and not injector (IMHO). Generally when a head gasket starts going bad you initially get just white smoke on startup (small amount of coolant collects in the cylinder and then burns off on startup, but during driving there is not enough of a leak to see). Then it gets worse and smokes all the time and even starts contaminating your oil with coolant. Unfortunately these overhead cam/vvt motors are a pain to put new head gaskets on. My brother had the same problem with his F150 (granted it had 250k on it) and it was the same price to buy a new long block as it was to have the head gaskets changed. Good luck man...

Are you losing coolant or oil, that you can tell?

Most of the time at start up. But it has happens at any time. Not finding any fluids low. It seems no one at Jeep can find the problem. And that going to 2 different dealers. The lawyer is telling me that Jeep does not consider this a reason that the car would loss any value and it only happens at start up so they wont buy it back.

If Jeep didn't see a problem or a loss in value then they wouldn't offer you any money. Bottom line is that it will significantly effect the value as any potential buyer will balk as it is a potential problem. Likewise any dealer is going to short change you as they know that it will be hard to sell. If you have a carmax local you could go (with it cold) and get an appraisal (letting them see the smoke) and compare it to blue book. I would also think about this lawyer you have, from the very little you have stated it kind of sounds like he is a settler and may not have your best interests in mind.

If you want to keep the vehicle, you could go back at Jeep and tell them you are concerned it will turn into a problem and get them to give you a lifetime maxCare instead of cash. This way, if/when the problem gets worse you are covered....

The 3.6 Pentastar is well known for blowing out white smoke from collected water vapor especially on startup and especially on cold humid days. Normal and not much you can do. Lots of posts all over the net about this.
