2014 Overland with 6500 miles Leaking Coolant

Just got off my car and it smelled like coolant and yep, it was coolant leaking in the lower engine protecting plate.
Small amount but still I am very annoyed as my car only has 6500 miles on it. Can't really see where it is coming from looks like the area of the pump. Need to take the intake hose and filter off to be able to see where it is really coming from and I am not going to do it right now.
Let see what the service center will tell me when I drop it there Monday.

Did you do a quick check of coolant hose clamp tightness?

Re: 2014 Overland with 6500 miles Leaking Coolant

No not at all......expansion and contraction due to heat/cool cycles plus an incorrectly installed hose and/or clamp could cause such a leak.

Our Diesel Overland also has 6500 miles and If I spotted a small leak I would definitely check them first. If not, then take 'er in. Your vehicle you do what you like mate....

2014 Overland with 6500 miles Leaking Coolant

Got it to the service dept at the dealer this morning and it was the water pump.
They said by tomorrow I should be in my hands again.

Nice catch......but not good news on a 6500 mile vehicle. That's last thing you need is a water pump going out....

Not very rare for a component to fail early. Many 5.7 engines have this happen early.
