Do you know if your dealer was aware of the STAR Case Number that required the replacement radio be June 12th or later build unit?

I dont know but wouldnt chrysler know that when they sent the new radio? Is this messages the beginning of the same problems or just a software fix?

There were reports that dealers didn't know about the date code and accidentally put an old radio in. Ask them if they verified the date code on the radio before installation as the STAR Case instructs them to do this.

Service phone is almost always a hardware problem. UNLESS it has the updated card in it with the old software. Go into the settings/app section and check the software version of your radio (xx.xx.x number) and post please

If you want to see for yourself if you have a newer radio go into the dealer mode menu and you can see what the SN number is then pop over to the uconnect 13.19.0 thread and read the last few pages on how to look up date of radio. If you don't know how to get to dealer mode Pm me I'll give you the info. Actually scratch that even then that's not even 100 percent way to tell if you have an updated or newer radio

Took my 14 GC in for radio problems and was told that they will replace it when the one they ordered came in.

Re: 2014 Radio Needs Service Question

I have had my 2014 JGC Summit for 3 months and I keep getting this message displayed on the radio. Vehicle Phone Inoperative contact dealer for service and a red light comes on the rear view mirror. I have had the vehicle at the dealership 3 times in less than a month. They updated the software to 13.19.0 and it still gives me the error. The service department thinks it has something to do with the uconnect access. After reading these posts I know the radio needs to be replaced. Any suggestions on how I can make the dealership understand this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Ask them to look up the Star Case Number: S1308000230.

Not sure why they made you go in 3 times. I went in once and told them I got the phone needs service message a half hour later they told me they were ordering me a new radio.

Tell them you did a little research and read something about a Star case......then give them the # listed in the post above. They'll be getting you a new radio guaranteed.

Good Luck. I'm getting mine replaced in the morning. I'll report back here how it went.

Maybe you can also find out what needs to be removed when they change the radio? Thanks
