2014 Rear Power Outlet in Center Console

I have a 2014 JGC Summit. I've been using the rear electrical power outlet on the back of the center console. I've noticed that it seems to power cycle automatically which seems weird. It'll run for roughly 2 minutes, then shut off for 1-2 minutes, then turn back on for roughly 2 minutes, and so forth. Has anyone else noticed this issue? I guess I'm wondering if it's supposed to do that or not.

The question is, what are you running on it? Your average game console wouldn't cause the inverter to get hot enough to go into thermal protection.

But a refrigerator...

So it all depends on what you are trying to run from it and if that is causing the inverter to go into thermal protection.

I believe it can only handle about 1.5amps. I used mine to run a small 110v air pump, like the kind used for aquariums. I used it to keep some shiners alive on the way to fishing. The pump never stopped.

Rated at 150 watts.
What is odd is that if it crowbars due to excess current, it shouldn't come back on until the load is completely removed.

It may be a thermal shutdown.. not knowing anything about the guts of the unit, the timing sounds about right..
