Hoping somebody out there can help with a Picture from a 2014 Summit ?
Recently got my Jeep back after kissing a Deer that cracked the front bumper cover & grill and wondering if my Front Sensor is now recessed farther back than it originally was? The Body Shop said they repaired to Jeep specs but I'm concerned it may be a Safety Issue if it's too far back and thus less sensitive.
See attached pictures and notice the GAP between the Plastic Fascia Trim Plate and the Glass Sensor. In 1 picture you can clearly see the GAP and in the other you can see it measures about 1”. When I was washing it last fall I don't remember there being ANY GAP.
Can somebody post a picture showing the mounted position of their 2014 Summit Sensor ?
Go to a Jeep Dealer and ask what position is acceptable and then you have ammunition at the body shop. I would also take a good picture of one at the Jeep Dealer and take that with me as well. If they push back on fixing it then I would contact my insurance company. You always have the right to have your vehicle repaired to the condition it was in before the accident.

When I went to a Jeep Dealer I realized the 2016's or 2017's on the Lot looked a bit different in design, so I didn't feel like I was comparing "Apples to Apples" so that's why I asked to see a 2014 Pic.
Just sent a note and pics to my Body Shop guy. He was great to deal with and I used them before for my Acura. So I will wait for his reply before contacting Insurance etc.
you need to have it properly aimed by the dealer if I'm not mistaken, mine was giving freaky butt pucker FCW brake applications and the dealer said aim was off...maybe the body shops know how to do it dunno, just don't want you thinking just because it's "looks" centered that it's truly aimed right for FCW and ACC operation....
