I'll just add it to the list along with the other gremlins that this vehicle has.
You need to start enjoying it and don 't worry about the small stuff. Every once and a while after i get out of mine the horn will honk 3 times and the door will unlock like the keys are inside when they are in my pocket. No big deal I just re lock it. Its like the 4 times it takes for some lift gates to open not a big deal. If it makes you feel better just cross out the 2x on the fob and put 4x. Its just very minor stuff unless it leaves you walking.

The problem is everytime I now park and lock the vehicle, will it stay locked??

Re: 2014 Summit Unlocks Itself

I heard there was a problem with the passive entry door handle that can cause this problem - Chrysler knows about it. If the door handle thinks it is asserted (like you hand is behind it) it can automatically unlock when you come near. I have seen mine do it at the car wash (which happened to my BMW) but I believe this is normal.

On a related issue, we just purchased a 2013 Charger and it had a bad door handle. When I pulled into the gargage 5 ft from where my keys were hanging on the other side of the wall, the vehicle would repeatedly unlock. They replaced the handle and it fixed the issue. I cannot say that is what is happening with the jeep but I would have it checked out...

Thanks. I'll keep this in mind when I speak with my service manager.

Re: 2014 Summit Unlocks Itself

Has there been any fix to this yet? My jeep has been doing the same thing. I lock my door with the push button on the door handle, walk around the jeep and then then the doors unlock randomly.
