Re: 2014 Transmission

Thanks for the quick response!

Yeah my dealer said it was "quite the process" to get done. Didn't really know what that meant until he sent me the (9) page NOVEL of lingo that was WAY over my head...I'll have to schedule a time to go in and have it take a look at. He did say it would take quite some time to do it. Did he give you the chart once it was complete?

Couldn't agree more on the "dreading" to drive. Its something that's hard to ignore.

Anyone else had success with the 4-25 (9) page novel service bulletin?

They did not give me the chart (I didn't ask for it because I didn't believe it would work!) but it is on file with my dealership.

Re: 2014 Transmission

Anyone have a link to the TSB? I took my overland in two weeks ago, and they did several updates. I'm still getting the horrid 1-2 shift, so I'm wondering if they missed the 4-25 TSB.

All the rattles on a 50k ride with 4k miles bug the shiiiit out of me, but the tranny issues make this thing undriveable.

Re: 2014 Transmission

So what's the verdict here? Is the April TSB working out the shifting issues?

Re: 2014 Transmission

I've had several transmission related updates performed since I bought the vehicle last July and shifting was about 90% dialed-in. I had it back at the dealership this week and tempted fate by having them apply the most current update. The invoice says they performed a PCM update. I will have to give it a few weeks to see if there is any change.
Interestingly the invoice also states "no dtcs or updates available, star case for improved valve body plate (part not available at this time) ordered part."

Re: 2014 Transmission

I had my PCM replaced (see my rant thread lol) and I have a question

Does everyones shifting feel really harsh/rough until it worms up? or is that just me.
I drove a few other new ones yesterday and they even worse than mine - but i noticed mine was pretty good all day. This morning, terrible again.

Re: 2014 Transmission

Tried reading through most of the messages here and came to the conclusion that most people either have lurching or problems downshifting. My problem is shifting between gears 1, 2, and 3. If I step on the gas it stays in 1 or 2 way too long. Sometimes long enough for me to use the right paddle to immediately shift into 3rd or 4th. Very annoying as the engine just keeps revving at slow speeds.
After reading the responses on the TSB, I'm a little nervous to take mine in because I don't want any other issues.

Anyone else experiencing long delays in shifting? Recommend taking it in?

I feel like I have the opposite of you Notorious. I feel like mine goes through 1 and 2 too quickly, and then in 3rd feels very sluggish (eco mode turned on may be the reason too).

Been contemplating mentioning it at the dealer during my next oil change. But right now I am not concerned or bothered enough to take it in just for that.

Side issue: I typically do a constant 35-40 mph on my commute every day. Transmission gets to 8th gear and sits at about 1 RPM. I get a very low vibrating or reverberating sound when throttle is applied to keep speed constant. Take my foot off the pedal or accelerate to increase RPM and it goes away. It causes some rattles elsewhere in the vehicle, sounds like mostly my passenger door. Anyone else notice anything similar?
