After the flash, mine is better but still has bad days. Yesterday it was shifting very poorly but before that it was really good. Overall I think they need to rework things. If you drive most other SUVs or trucks you will see how much better they are than the 2014 GC.

Our first one is way worse than the one we bought months later (2014.5 which has the w/stop ACC). I think the early ones are kinda messed up.

Mine still shifts like crap after the latest flash Geting rid of this think. My winter beater 99 corolla with 150k miles shifts 100 times better than $45k Jeep. :-((

After the latest flash done I would say the transmission improves a lot. But noticed one thing which it seems it won't shift to level 8 with a speed under 55mph. I just drove it with level 7 all the way to work. Is this normal?

So what's the deal with getting these TSBs done at the dealer. The story I'm getting is a tech plugs his laptop up to the car and if it doesn't say that your vehicle qualifies for the TSBs you've made a list of and brought them in then they won't be done because the dealer won't be paid for the work. That's kinda hard to believe for a new 2014 jeep and it'd almost as if they're penalizing you because you obviously are more aware of your vehicle and what should be done as opposed to most folks who visit the service department. I'm definately tired of the run around that's for sure. What's chryslers stand point on this issue since I'm coming in with these TSB numbers which for me are complaints that they should address if I want the software downloads.

The first time I went to the dealer for the transmission update they tech said what you described that the system does not say the update applies to my VIN. I contacted Chrysler through their website and they verified that the update did apply to my vehicle and they contacted the dealership. The second time I went in they updated it no problem. So either some dealerships are not informed or just don't like to do the work for some reason.

I think it's they seemly don't like their service bays tied up for long periods as the more the turn around the more money they can make but if you have info that says your vehicle applies to certain TSBs then you shouldn't have to waste time and gas going back and forth trying to get them done. What number did you use to contact Chrysler to get your TSBs done??

At the top of each TSB there is a message something like this;

"THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 14.02 OR HIGHER TO
PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE."

I believe that not all service departments keep their software up to date. So, the vin wouldn't show the TSB is needed, and the service department couldn't perform it.

If a dealer tells you it's not available, politely ask what level their wiTECH software is at. You might be helping them out.

That's crazy that you're coming to them for an update and their software to update yours isn't updated.

Re: 2014 Transmission

Has anyone had the most recent update done for the V8? Mine works fairly well as is but always looking for improvements. Sometimes the downshift into 2nd is harsh in sport mode and could always use more response on tip in.

Re: 2014 Transmission

I just got my '14 5.7L V8 back today from a two day stay at the dealer's to perform the transmission and ELSD updates. Have no idea why it took them two days to perform a couple hours' work, but I had a free loaner car so all was good. I immediately noticed smoother shifting, and now I don't reach to turn off the Eco mode as soon as I start the car. Hope it gets even better as it re-learns my driving style. Also had them rotate and balance my worthless Michelin Tour tires that, with less than 14K miles on them, will have to be replaced within 5K more miles. Garbage tires that are worthless on snow or in rain - better be 75 degrees and sunny when you drive on these if you want to have any traction at all.

Man, am I glad I got rid of those Latitudes as soon as I got my Jeep. We just crossed over 120 inches of snow here for this winter.
