Jeep chief regional engineer looked at my 2014 JGC again today. He heard the rattle/noise (2nd time he has looked at the car) and concluded that the noise is from the valve train and is being amplified into the cabin. While mine is somewhat louder compared to others with 18" tires, V-6, Limited it is still within "norm". Service manager and my wife (drives the car 99% of the time) claim it is getting much louder. I will be elevating this non acceptable condition again to Sergio M. At $40,000 this engine should not be generating this kind of noise into the cabin. I would suggest strongly to register a complaint if you are hearing this metallic sound form 20 MPH to like 56 MPH. Will keep you all posted as to what the final outcome is. Thanks
Sorry, no update from previous post. Jeep is all of a sudden being very silent. This noise is just not normal from a vehicle that stickers for $40,000. We will reach resolution one way or another I am sure of that.
I agree. It is very frustrating to spend this much money on a brand new car and have it not be perfect. The funny thing is I have been working in parts for 12 year (toyota, not chrysler) and I even had a few of our best techs look at it, they all hear the noise but none of them can figure out what it is. And of course the guys at chrysler keep telling me its normal which i know is not true.
please post if the exhaust repairs fix this. I have literally gone up and down this car trying to find the problem, including chrysler techs, service director and shop foreman, and I just can not figure this out. The noise is deiving me insane....
