Help!! 2014 wk2 interior light buttons not working

I am hoping someone can help me figure this one out because i have had no such luck

i have a 2014 JGC Summit and out of no where i lost the ability to be able to manually turn on any of the interior lights(map, dome, etc, vanity) by pushing the light button or flipping the vanity .
What makes this even more strange is that all of the lights do turn on when i slide the dimmer switch to the left of the steering wheel all the way up and they also all turn on when the doors are open like they are supposed to.
When i slide the dimmer switch up all the way to turn on all of the lights i can manually turn the rear passenger lights off and on but as soon as i turn off the lights via the dimmer wheel, i can no longer turn them on via light button. Also the mirror(vanity) lights do not turn on at all.
This is a major annoyance and i dont know what else to do. I have pulled the negative terminal off the battery to try and reset, checked fuses etc and no luck.
Not sure if this is related to the same problem above but it appears that the approach lights under the mirrors do not light up when i approach or open the doors, which they always used to

If anyone has encountered this or has an idea on how i can further troubleshoot this to find a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: forgot to mention that I have not had any trouble codes pop up

Re: 2014 wk2 interior light buttons not working

Probably a long shot, but there has been a recall of 2014 JGCs for electrical problems related to loose alternator connections and software problems:

Re: 2014 wk2 interior light buttons not working

jgrimberg1979 I have the same issue with my 2014 WK2 Limited. I also noticed that the foot-well LED's on both the driver and passenger side, the door handle led's on both rear doors, and the ambient light in the center console are also inop.

SUPER annoying considering I have had the vehicle less than a week, taking it back to the dealer today. Please let me know if you were able to find a fix since posting.

Did some research this weekend and the only thing I could find is that all seemingly affected systems are controlled by BCM, not much to go off of.

If anyone had any insight on what might be causing this it would be much appreciated.

Thanks
- Paul

They should not turn on if you have the dimmer wheel all the way down (thats an interior light overide)... turn it back up?

Re: 2014 wk2 interior light buttons not working

Thanks for the response Static,

Let me clarify, If the dimmer wheel is in any position other than the top detent (on) the interior pushbutton light switches do not work, reading lights or map lights. Open the doors and the lights come on, close the doors and the lights turn off. Move the dimmer wheel to the top (on) detent and lights come on. In any case the manual switches do not work. Along with the manual light switches (reading & map) the vanity lights, glove-box lights, center console lights, foot-well lights, rear door handle lights all do not work. I noticed this morning on my in to work that the reading lights flickered a bit right after starting the vehicle, to me that points most likely to a loose ground. Any way, it's back at the dealership now, I'll post whatever they find out just incase someone else has the same issue.

Thanks again
- Paul
