2014 WK2 - Nav not pronouncing full street names

Hi All,

I got my keep about 5 weeks ago. I've on the latest uconnect version and i think my maps are up-to-date.

For some reason the nav system seems to pronounce only the first few letters of a street name or the name of the street sounds jumbled/makes no sense.

Anyone else had this problem/know how to fix?

Thanks
Steve

I'd try a system reboot, then check your software is up to date... not that this has been a problem with earlier versions as far as I know.

A basic reboot can be achieved by holding the round "mute" and "tune" buttons down for a few seconds. Nothing is lost doing so.

A more substantial reboot is achieved through the Engineering Menu. Hold down the passenger side hot and cold buttons for this one in Aussie vehicles.

Let us know how you go. The next thing is to look at software versions / updates. This is well documented in other threads.

Cheers,
Steve

I'll suspect i'll need to do a hard reset.

I did upgrade to the latest version (released a few days back) but i had the same issue..

lets hope hard reset fixes it, i'll report back.

thanks!

Re: 2014 WK2 - Nav not pronouncing full street names

I'm not sure... just chucking it out there... but there might be a setting for "long" versus "short" announcements? I get confused with our other car. Anyway, if available, maybe set it to the alternative and see what happens.

I have voice guidance off, finding the instrumentation display pretty usable and a fine way of not having my tunes interrupted.

Cheers,
Steve
