2014 WK2 Windshield Scratch Repair Options

I have an extremely light windshield scratch from the wiper. I've never run it dry, so not sure how it happened. Anyway, you can only see it when light is behind it and I cannot feel it or catch my fingernail in the scratch, so I am certain it's not that bad. Since my WK2 has rain sensing wipers, I am assuming the windshield is special in some way? Is there any way to buff off/reduce the scratch at all, safely that won't mess with the wipers or do I just live with it until I need to replace it one day (which is bound to happen when you drive 80-100 miles a day like me)? Any successes with this sort of thing on the WK2's? Help/advice is appreciated!

Re: 2014 WK2 Windshield Scratch Repair Options

Going to bump this old topic in the hopes that someone can offer advice. I keep reading conflicting things online (fix it, don't fix it).

Check autogeek. They have glass polish, and more than likely "how-tos".

buffing can lead to a waving effect in the windshield. I had someone buff a windshield a few years ago. The scratch was gone but now every time you looked through that section the view was distorted. I would either live with it or get the windshield replaced.

If you buff it, you need to use a tool that does a decent job of maintaining the original curvature. You COULD make a home made one with wood, hard pitch, etc. and if there are any local telescope hobbyists, they might be willing to help for suitable bribes.

As for warranty, I'd be willing to bet that very light scratching are not considered faults...

Are you sure it is scratched, or is it just crud left on there by the wipers?
