Wow,

I'm about a year out from purchasing a new vehicle. The GC Overland WAS top on my list until I read this thread. Now, I'm not so sure...

I wouldn't drop it from the top of my list based on anything I read on a forum. That's not to say that the GC hasn't been without its problems, or belittle the ones people here have experienced. It's merely that on a dedicated forum you'll most likely find more complaints than praise. It's a small cross section of owners and that's not necessarily indicative of the majority of them actually on the road.

Pick any vehicle, find a forum where it's being talked about and you'll most likely find the same being said about it as you read here about the GC.

Re: 2015 grand Cherokee Lemon?

I'm on a number of forums. I don't see consistent complaints about the same problem, and I've NEVER seen so many buy-backs! That's just nuts!

I do realize that satisfied customers are less vocal than dissatisfied, but usually there are minor complaints, not complaints that put the car or truck into the shop for weeks on end without resolution.

Scary!

You're reading a relatively small sampling of all the people who own and drive one. Some of what you read is the result of poor service departments. If it bothers you that much then the Jeep is not for you.

I've owned 5 GC's since they came out in 93. None were trouble free and one went back as a lemon. That didn't make me shy away from them, nor does that scare me away from another.

THAT'S a sales pitch Jeep should be proud of! Yeah, I guess I should stick to Japanese vehicles. My last Honda went 232,000 trouble free miles. I sold it over a year ago and the new owner is driving it with no problems.

I'm in my 50's. I want a trouble-free vehicle. I'm getting too old to mess around with problematic vehicles.

It's a shame, they are classy looking.

Buy another Honda then. How's that for a sales pitch?

Mine has been great, lucky I don't read too many bad stories about Jeeps!

It's far more likely that I'll be seeing you in a ditch or buried in a snowbank before you see me broken down and needing a ride.

OK, I'm definitely getting off on the wrong foot here. I came here for information, and I apologize if I seemed abrasive to you. I'll go back to lurk mode and read more before commenting. I'm certain there are plenty of positive posts that I can find too. This was probably the wrong thread to start with.

No problem Pete, I don't take it personally. It's your money... research away and buy what you like. This is the place for answers.
