2015 Limited Problems Just Purchased

On Saturday I bought a 2015 limited with the V6 and quadralift. The day after purchase I noticed the steering wheel wasn't centered. Satellite radio and VoiceCommands weren't working but I took it home and updated the radio and that seems to have resolved.

Last night I tried using automatic High beams and even in a pitch black field they wouldn't activate.

I've also noticed that the driver ventilated seat fan kicks on when enabled but is incredibly weak compared to the passenger seat.

Anytime I give it Gas in eco mode it has a harsh kick like it's downshifting way too low for the amount of gas given.

I noticed that my tires were over inflated by about 12 pounds and while deflating them to 33 pounds each, noticed this: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1441744264.883134.jpg

Have any of you had problems with these things? Any advice or thoughts? Do you see the rust like in the picture on your vehicles?

Presumably it was purchased with some sort of warranty?

2015 Limited Problems Just Purchased

It's brand-new. Factory and extended warranty included. My dealer is so backed up with repairs they can't get it in and give me a loaner until Thursday. I'm just beginning to have some buyer remorse. Just want to know if these are widespread things or I happened to pick up a problematic one. Only 100 miles on the clock. I know pretty much everything will get resolved but I'm curious to know whether that rust is normal or not.

Re: 2015 Limited Problems Just Purchased

Congrats on your purchase.

Unfortunately, the problems you are having are not common and shouldn't be happening to a brand new Jeep.

I would just make a list of things that are wrong and bring it to the manager of the service department or the manager of the dealership and they should promptly fix the issues.

Good luck and let us know how you make out

Edit: Just saw picture of rust and my new 2015 grand cherokee has the same exact thing.

Thanks! Figured that was the case. Are you guys saying that even the rust shouldn't be there? I mean it was painted silver for a reason right?

The automatic high beams do not come on automatically. You have to put them on manually and they will dim automatically when appropriate. They also have to be turned on in the uConnect screen.

Thanks for that, however, I did manually enable them by pushing them forward on the stick and got notification that they were enabled. They also are enabled on the Uconnect settings screen. They actually did work the first night but I couldn't get them to work last night. Hence why I drove into a dark field to test them. I even tried toggling them on and off numerous times to no avail.

Closer inspection, it looks like the silver paint was scraped off in those spots. I'll probably just repaint with rustproof high temp paint and call it good.

Re: 2015 Limited Problems Just Purchased

FWIW my kl was delivered with 42lbs of air in each of the tires, haven't figured out what that was about. Other than that the only problems I've encountered were my own misunderstanding of things in "controls and settings". I've learned to become one with the owners manual.

Most carmakers ship vehicles with too much air in the tires to prevent flat spots.

They overfill the tires when shipping.

Re: 2015 Limited Problems Just Purchased

I got mine with overflated tires and purged them to where they should be cold. Check the door jamb for the recommended pressure. My steering wheel wasn't centered either. I contacted the dealer and they took it in and aligned it, covered under warranty.

I noticed what I considered less than smooth shifting with Eco mode enabled. I believe there are some TSB's out there that address this. Is that your normal drive mode? I found that when I switched to Eco mode and drove it more frequently, it smoothed out. I've since switched to standard drive unless I'm on the open road, I like responsiveness better and the gas mileage isn't that much different.

I read about the seats--I think in another post here--and the conclusion was they are not blowing out air, they're sucking in air. So if your entire body is covering the perforations when you sit down, and depending on the material of the clothing you're wearing, air may not be able to pass through it. I tend to lean to one side when I feel the need for a breeze on my back. When you said that the passenger side seems to be stronger than the driver side is anyone sitting in it? If not, you're not getting a like for like comparison.

If I were you, I'd call the dealership and talk to the service department. Let them know you just purchased the vehicle mention all of the issues you've reported and make sure all TSB's are applied when it's in for service.

Lastly, I too have one of those rust spots behind the wheel. I just noticed this. 2015 with 1100k miles. I'll be bringing that up with the dealer. Anyone else have this problem? If so, can you share experiences getting it corrected?
