Just when I felt "comfortable" buying my 2016 75th Laredo, 14 May & pick up in 5 -10 days, Recon Green w/ ORA1 & Tow, I see this News at Allpar site this morning. Apparently FCA US will be issuing a Recall (~37,000+ G.C.'s) on the New Shifter. The New Shifter may be locked in Park or Neutral after a Stop, IF a Wire Harness was Improperly Crimped. An "INTERLOCK ISSUE" ?
Disgusted comes to mind, . . . depressed ? Been nearly 11 months without wheels and actually considering waiting for the 2017's, but the overall Look of the 75th was to hard to resist, and when I FINALLY saw one at a dealer online, 200 miles away, I called and Made the Purchase. SUCKS knowing I haven't even seen IT or sat in it yet, and Already it's gonna have the Center Console "manhandled to see if some damned wires are Crimped"! FCA can change management Faces all they want; Ain't gonna Fix the Core issues at the Factory Level ! Should I of bought a TREK 21 speed Hybrid bike instead ?
Assuming (ugh I hate to do that) the "other issues - TSB's", which there are a few, can be Easily delt with, I will start USEing my new toy as Built/Intended, so if inclined, I will try to Revitalize the Old 'Show & Tell' Thread with lots of Lou's Adventures, and perhaps others will once again get Inspired to join in !
Till Then . . . Happy Recalling . . . !
