It's not supposed to require 1 touch of the regular door unlock keyfob button first before opening the liftgate with 2 clicks on the liftgate keyfob button. Nor should it matter if the vehicle was locked or unlocked.

If it doesn't ALWAYS operate as described in my first sentence, then it's not operating as designed. Chrysler knows they have a problem with many 2014 WK2's, but like myself, others don't want to leave the vehicle with the dealer so they can prod and poke till maybe they find a cure. I'm sure it's some module or relay on the vehicle that is causing the problem, but until someone leaves their vehicle with the dealer to be the gunea pig, it won't get fixed.

Any volunteers?????

Picked up a 2014 yesterday - does the same "4 clicks" to open the rear lift gate.

Re: 4 clicks to get liftgate open

I have a 4/13 build Overland. I can count the number of times I've used the fob to open the liftgate in the last year on one hand... and still have 4 fingers left.

I just went out and checked mine with the fob. 2 clicks (as indicated in the fob icon) opens the liftgate with the vehicle locked or unlocked. If the vehicle is locked all 4 doors remain locked when the liftgate opens.

At least I now know my remote start works... I accidentally hit that button instead of the liftgate button. Scared the crap outta me as I wasn't expecting that... LOL.

I retested mine this afternoon, if I delay the click by 1 to 2 seconds before I click it a second time it works as it supposed to. My error was in too rapidly Click it in succession.

Yeah, that very well may have been the problem. I used 2 deliberate pushes with a slight pause between them.

But that's good info for others who may be experiencing this.

I argued that this is an electrical problem and even called Mopar only to get the same response. Needless to say I'm pissed as hell as they want $445 plus tax to replace it. Feel like i've been cheated. Anyone else have this problem?
Their response makes absolutely no sense. Did you get any resolution to this?
