4 clicks to get liftgate open

Heys, been away a while, and wonder if there has been a fix for it taking 4 clicks of the button on the remote to get the liftgate open?

Not that I know of yet.
My early build 3/13 worked flawlessly. But my 11/13 build always takes 4 clicks.

Re: 4 clicks to get liftgate open

Mine does 4 clicks, but I simply don't bother any more. It's just easier for me to open the gate by hand. I rarely have my keys in hand, and open the gate with my hand unlocks the truck at the same time.

So, it's not that the remote open is useless to me, it's just not very useful or convenient.

Try hitting the unlock button before hitting the liftgate button twice.

Re: 4 clicks to get liftgate open

I'm glad I found this forum, my rear liftgate button failed recently. I had purchased an extended warranty about a year after buying my jeep. Come to find out the dealer says its not covered under the warranty as the part number is listed as something like "rear tailgate applique/license plate lightbar". I argued that this is an electrical problem and even called Mopar only to get the same response. Needless to say I'm pissed as hell as they want $445 plus tax to replace it. Feel like i've been cheated. Anyone else have this problem?

Ding...ding...ding!

If the vehicle is unlocked, it takes only two clicks to open the tailgate...four if the vehicle is locked.

1st world problem...wish all my "problems" were this simple.

Re: 4 clicks to get liftgate open

Hit the lock button even if the car is locked and it will still only take two pushes. The lock or unlock button seems to wake the car up.

But that's the boggle of it. Why can't the first click of the two clicks wake it up like the one click of the unlock button?

Makes no sense.

There's some subtle timing problem underlying this I think (perhaps related to car start up), but even still, clearly, the unlock command works.

The rear liftgate is supposed to open with 2 clicks on the liftgate keyfob button, PERIOD

It's not supposed to require 1 touch of the regular door unlock keyfob button first before opening the liftgate with 2 clicks on the liftgate keyfob button. Nor should it matter if the vehicle was locked or unlocked.

If it doesn't ALWAYS operate as described in my first sentence, then it's not operating as designed. Chrysler knows they have a problem with many 2014 WK2's, but like myself, others don't want to leave the vehicle with the dealer so they can prod and poke till maybe they find a cure. I'm sure it's some module or relay on the vehicle that is causing the problem, but until someone leaves their vehicle with the dealer to be the gunea pig, it won't get fixed.

Any volunteers?????
