5.7L Stalling on startup

I have an issue with my vehicle stalling immediately after it starts up. It will happen 2-3 times within a week and then won't happen for a month. A friend of mine who works for a local Jeep dealer said it sounds like the vehicle is not recognizing the key and therefore shutting down. I don't really think that makes sense, if it doesn't recognize the key why would it start in the first place? Anyone else ever experience something like this?

Kind of funny because before even reading all of your post the first thought that came to my mind was also something to do with the key fob and keyless access/push start system. For now to eliminate the actual key fob you're using, do you happen to have the other one available? Maybe use your spare fob and see if that stops the stalling. Its a start anyway and something you can do right away without a trip to the dealer.

Re: 5.7L Stalling on startup

What year is your Jeep? How many miles? Most likely the internal fuel pump relay in your TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) is failing. There is a recall for this issue if you do a search there are several threads on this problem. Check these out;

TIPM Recall
Stall after start

Re: 5.7L Stalling on startup

I think the TIPM recall has already been performed on mine. I will have to double check that though.
