A/C auto mode operation in high interior temps.

Hello, hoping someone can verify what the AC in auto mode does when interior temps are high such as parked in the sunlight on an 80 deg. day with cabin temps around 100 deg plus.
I just had a body software update on my 2015 Laredo E with the 8" screen and the AC auto mode does not behave like it used to. With a temp setting of 70 deg., the fan speed hovers around 2 clicks and the system does not use full capacity (such as max AC w/recirculation) to cool the cabin.
All my vehicles reverted to maximum under these conditions and I'm just giving a shout out to the forum to see what your similar jeep models do.
Took it back to the dealer immediately after the body software update because the auto mode was completely zapped and they performed a calibration which seemed to improve the fan speed and interior temp sensing, but now that temps are going higher, I expect the system to perform like new.
In manual mode, all components operate normally.

I have had issues with seemingly unrelated software flashes whacking out my ac the way you are describing. I took it back, dealer acknowledged the issue but had no clue and opened a star case on it. So I take it home screwed up like that, decided to pull the battery cable and let everything reset. I left it off all night put it on the next morning and all was fixed and back to normal. What I have learned with this jeep is if you get weird operation after flashes or anytime a reboot (battery cable pull) can often help, it let's every reset and comeback up gracefully.

On another unrelated AC note. If your ac seems to be running correctly otherwise but just isn't cooling well at high temps, have the dealer check the ac refridgerant charge. Mine was found to be undercharged from the factory on my 2014. Dealer set it to the correct amount at no cost. All been fine ever since

Helpful info, thanks!
The chill level is satisfactory in manual mode, and gets the cabin cooled nicely.
Jeep has only 3600 miles, and it's the auto mode software logic that has me doubting the validity of the update and calibration. Main concern is the recirculating mode not kicking in when maximum cooling is called for.
I'll probably ask to have a sales guy demonstrate the operation with a new car on the lot, but it would be cool to hear of other experiences, no pun intended!

Try the battery cable thing if you can. Its quick easy and you would be surprised how dealers often dont even think to try that, your just driving a computer on wheels. When windows on your desktop computer screws up the first thing you do is try a reboot. Try the same with your jeep.

So I stopped in at the dealer's and asked to check out the AC on a new GC. It was a nice hot day and the system went to max (7) fan speed in auto mode, while my jeep only revs up to a 5 with the same temp setting.
So, I talked to the service writer and he's telling me that there's a large number of complaints with the AC performance regarding temp setting and output stability.
I asked him about resetting using the battery disconnect method and he said that should be fine, and further added that I can place a jumper between the +/- leads after disconnect, this should help discharge the system during reset.
He also said that the update software is inaccurate and many customers have the same complaint as mine, that I should call in occasionally and check if there is a fix.
As for now, I like silvermax04's idea about the battery disconnect and will try that.
