Re: a/c leak

If they injected UV dye into the system, which they should have long before this point, traces of dye should be visible at the HVAC drain underneath the vehicle if the evap core is at fault.

Regarding these recharges, how much refridgerant was lost between recharges?

Re: a/c leak

I don't blame you. A second opinion never hurts especially if one cannot find the source of the leak.

No two would be the same. Sounds like time to see an A/C specialist or a different dealer.

Pretty much anything is a suspect, sometimes a simple hose rubbing against metal, sometimes one of those Schrade valves, sometimes the compressor, the dryer, or even the evap. Compressor not that likely at that low mileage unless factory defect.

Re: a/c leak

went to highly recommended shop Thursday morning and they checked it with sniffer and glasses and nothing, they put it up on lift and checked every part they could see including the drain and nothing, removed cabin air filter put sniffer inside and nothing, it has lots of dye inside system, they bled some from schrader valve just to make sure, other shop put in extra

Re: a/c leak

Mine 2011 is heading in for A/C diagnosics Tuesday AM. Had it recharged 3 weeks ago. It worked on the first leg of my trek in 95 degree weather. Then cycled mostly between hot and less cool air on the way home. It worked fine Wednesday first thing. Hope to know more by noon this coming Tuesday.
