A/C Not really cold anymore?

What would I need to check on in my HVAC to see what would be causing this? The air isn't really COLD anymore, just kind of cool and summer is coming and I can't afford to have just 'cool' air when it's 100+ outside this summer! What should I look for / check? Thanks guys!

Re: A/C Not really cold anymore?

electronic climatic control will only cool depending on temp set inside the cabin. If this is not the case then a trip to the dealer is on order. Could be a defective control module, low on charge or compressor.

Re: A/C Not really cold anymore?

Lots of things could be wrong.

1. Bad compressor
2. Low charge
3. Faulty clutch
4. clogged evap
5. bad controller
6. Pressure switch

If the compressor is running then that eliminates 1 and 3

If the return line is warm or frosted the it could be 2 or 4

If nothing is working then it could be 5 or 6.

There is also a host of other possibilities.

Unless you know how to troubleshoot an AC system, just forget it, and then a trip to the shop is in order.

Re: A/C Not really cold anymore?

We have found the AC to be quite chilly...of course we live in NE so it isn't qorking quite as hard.

That said if the air temp seems to be closer to ambient then a trip to the dealer is in order.

We had two leaks repaired on our AC system in the first year of ownership.
