Re: ACC/FCW Unavailable

Tom, I agree. I did not know others had had issues with the bezel messing up the sensors abilities. I also agree there is no reason to give a dealer an opportunity not to cover a repair/software reset etc. Not as obvious as I had thought :-)

Re: ACC/FCW Unavailable

MSRP on the radar module is about $1500.. don't want to give them any excuse should it have issues..

68143107AB, $11.24 at east coast moparts.

If that doesn't fix it, then have the dealer look at it. My bet is that if you show up with the bezel missing, they will claim damage and not warranty any work on the sensor (that's what happened in one of the cases mentioned above).

So your saying to just buy the part and install it? Don't bother with the dealer unless the piece didn't correct the problem?

Is it hard to install this bezel?

Re: ACC/FCW Unavailable

that piece is actually critical as it is the "collector" of the return radar signal...I bet your issue is it's missing....however, if debris knocked it off then it might need re-aimed by the dealer....bet it doesn't tho...

Re: ACC/FCW Unavailable

I was about to call the dealership to make an appointment, then I decided to look up the reviews on Yelp. It's seems the dealers here in Brooklyn are terrible!

I'm going to order the part from the site that was suggested and install it myself. Hope that will correct the problem. Will keep you posted.

Re: ACC/FCW Unavailable

Order the surround and snap it on. Had our come out when my wife jumped the curve and plowed the front end into a bush. Got the constant message you got coming up, so replaced that piece and it's since gone away. I'm surprised how easy this part comes off especially if it's that critical for the ACC to function.

Nope.
A teeny amount of rubber cement [very teeny] around the edges hopefully helps keep it from jarring out. If that fails, may have to use contact cement.

And yes, it does seem to confuse the thing if it is missing.

If you have a good relationship with your dealer service department, ask them.

I got the new part and popped it back in. Haven't had a chance to try the ACC yet so I don't know if it corrected the problem.

The part has been in for a week. I come to my car this morning an I find the part sitting on my hood! I'm assuming someone banged into the car and it popped out again? No clue how that happened. How do you keep it from falling out? That rubber cement work?

The fact that this is the second one to fall out, carefully check the part it snaps into.
