That's good news! Maybe Escort has figured out how to filter out the K band safety systems. I sure hope so.

I'd like to hear from other Escort owners to get a better picture of which models work OK.

Does your 2010 have the blind spot monitoring system?

Re: Adaptive Cruise = Useless Radar Detector?

No. 2010's don't come with the blind spot monitors. I have the 9500x and love it as well. But I also don't have all of the bells and whistles of the wk2...

Re: Adaptive Cruise = Useless Radar Detector?

I've used it my detector with my moms car with blind spot and adaptive cruise and never had a problem. Although I still the cars radar uses a different band than police radar....

Re: Adaptive Cruise = Useless Radar Detector?

I think I'd call Valentine before I trashed a $400 detector to purchase an Escort. Not saying one is better than the other, just that you need to go beyond an internet forum for answers before you decide the sky is falling. I'm sure Valentine knows all about the blind spot monitoring systems. The unit in the WK2 comes from a major supplier and uses the same technology in use by a number of car makers so I'm sure this wouldn't be the first they are hearing of it.

Re: Adaptive Cruise = Useless Radar Detector?

I use a K-40 RL360. I allows me to turn certain bands off if the ACC or Blind Spot sets it off. I am able to use all bands.

I find that if I drive the speed limit I'm in most drivers way. I do tend to speed but I never tailgate, glog traffic by driving slow in the passing lane or speed in neighborhoods or school zones. It's nice to have a little heads up before driving into a speed trap.

The ACC is great. I think it's funny that people are upset about the technology. I hope those same people turn off their radios while they drive. It simply makes driving more pleasant. Enjoy life people!

Re: Adaptive Cruise = Useless Radar Detector?

Just switched from my trusty V1 (constant rear K alert) to an Escort 8500. ZERO problems from BSM and ACC. V1, it's time to get with the program! Your suggestion to disable POP ain't doin' the trick.
