Adaptive cruse control cuts out intermitintly

Hello Friends,

Long time no see. I guess its true most don't visit the site often if they are happy with there vehicle. Fist I am still very happy with my 2014 G.C. overland. She has not been in for service yet (just about a year old) I am experiencing the adaptive cruse cuts out intermittingly for a few min. then come back on. I get a audible signal and a message that says to clean the front radar sensor. This stated almost from day one, but only happened rarely. Now it happens every time Its on, sometimes after a few min, sometimes longer. Anyone else have this issue? She only has 6,000 mile on her, oil monitor still close to 50% I am going to the dealer tomorrow for oil change / tire rotation/ cruse. I found 13 TSB/ recalls for my build date (07-29-2013), Is the dealer going to give me grief when I plop down all the TSB?

Thanks for any advice

Will F.

Re: Adaptive cruse control cuts out intermitintly

For several of individuals I believe the culprit was the little plastic surround piece had become dislodged and/or had gone completely missing.

Not for all of us. I have had it happen several times and my trim piece is there and solid. Sometimes I get the sensor needs cleaning; sometimes I get ACC and FCW are disabled - Service the ACC and FCW. The dealer hasn't been able to find anything.

When it happens, I generally switch to regular cruise for about five minutes and then back to ACC and everything is fine after that.

Mine does the same thing, and after 3 trips to the dealer, is yet to be fixed.

Suggest walking thru all those TSB's and only taking the ones that you care about to the dealer. e.g. any you find related to ACC.

SOME dealers, once they have to hook up, will update everything to the latest and greatest, others seem to feel that this is not needed as long as they can find folks to buy from them.

Hence the reason I said "for several.." not "for all..."

Re: Adaptive cruse control cuts out intermitintly

Have any of you bumped the lower valance? it doesn take much to mis align the eye. There are 3 screws that hold it in place. one is non adjustable. one moves it left right and one up and down. They need to be aimed with a special tool then driven for 10 miles with a driver and a tech to learn objects. Try this all of you. LOAD the living hell out of the rear compartment I mean a couple hundred pounds. if it works fine its aimed to low. MY 14 cherokee was acting up and when i towed the boat it was perfect. The added wight on the trailer hitch caused the ass end to sag just a bit and that aimed the eye up. had dealer adjust it and its now perfect.

How's that work with the air suspension doing the self leveling thing?

Mine did the same thing - occ cut out and fcw/acc service message. dealer replaced the switch on the steering wheel. Over the last 3000 miles since replacement, it has worked perfectly.

Can anybody with an ACC/FCW sensor aligned correctly post a photo of it taken up-close?

Re: Adaptive cruse control cuts out intermitintly

Did you guys having this problem have recall N-55 done yet? I was at the dealer yesterday, out of the 13 TSB's I found for my build date they found 5 when they input my Vin #. N-55 was one of them,
(I also received notification by mail about N-55 & P14.)I am hoping this recalibration of the ACC module will solve the problem. Tomorrow I am driving to N.C. and then back. We will see. JeepGCoverland, If I remember your truck was on the line at the same time as mine. Could you tell me which (if any) TSB's your dealer did for you?
Here is my list: Build date 07-26-2013
P-14 - Part on order
N-55- done
13-071- done
14-014- done
14-050-done

N-58 This is a recall I was not notified by mail, so I guess I am good. TSB says builds though 08-20-2013

18-008-14REV.A - (built before 03-10-2014) I am not seeing any codes, enhancements are also included

11-003-14 - easy enough to check to see if nut is there. I will ask on next visit.

18-034-14 - This TSB says unsold were added? WTF I am asking to check if I have the sensor in question.

21-01214 - As far as I can tell this applies to my build, sales code (DFD)

21-004-14 - same for this one.

24-002-13 - A/C does cut off on door open remote start ( I will tell dealer)

24-003-14- sometimes it does feel warm, then other times to cold. (I will tell dealer)

I plan on keeping this vehicle a good long time, I don't think I am being unreasonable to expect any revisions to be made. I was happy with yesterdays dealer service. One point they didn't tell me that the shield was on order, If I didn't check the receipt I would have thought it was done.

Thanks for your replies
Will F.
