Re: Air Suspension Again

If there is an a/c leak, the standard way to diagnose is to inject dye into the coolant line to find an exit point (leak location). Presumably they can do the same thing with the QL system.

Re: Air Suspension Again

To my understanding, you cannot do that with this system. I had everything done to diagnose mine and no dye was ever used. They brought in an engineer from Continental in Germany (who designed the system) to get a fix.

Re: Air Suspension Again

Thanks for the feedback. Fortunately, there are plenty of QL wk2's sold at my dealership.
I am actually bringing it in a bit earlier, tomorrow, so we will see

Re: Air Suspension Again

Wk2 still in shop...day#3
Tank was dry, they refilled it but it apparrently lost 75# of pressure overnight. They are trying to find the leak...frustrating to say the least
That being said, the service department appears to be motivated and helpfull.

Re: Air Suspension Again

Be grateful it is still under warranty; I cannot imagine how much the dealer would charge for repairing the system if it was not covered, and this is a dealer only fix. Complex new gadgets like the air susp., untested over time, are often pandora's boxes, just awaiting to be opened. I never buy a first model year vehicle, as they always have issues which are addressed in subsequent model years.

Re: Air Suspension Again

Yeah, I think that's what extended or lifetime warrantees are for. The system is made by continental who seem to have a good reputation. The brand has been used on several vehicles for years without issue. JGC components may differ a bit, but the issue seems to be leaks and how to find them.

Re: Air Suspension Again

I agree, I can't imagine owning it without a warranty...I have an extended one
Another day passes without resolution, they believe the leak is intermittent
Thankfully I still have my old car, so it's not a huge pain, just annoying
Oh well, it's opening day, my tv works, what do I need a car for! Go giants!

Re: Air Suspension Again

Still no joy with finding the leak. They flew in a specialist, and he hasn't had any luck so far. They are going to try again on monday. Thats 13 straight days they have had my car (including two weekends)...or a total of 20 days since i bought the car...and i have less than 6k miles on it. Not impressed.

Sorry to hear about the issues. So far I love my Jeep but thats the one thing that I dont like about American car manufacturers is they do not offer loaner vehicles. With my Acura and Lexus they give you a brand new loaners for as long as you need it no questions asked. I cant imagine what someone would do without a car for the entire time it was in a shop especially if its their only vehicle.

Re: Air Suspension Again

I believe my extended service contract provides for a rental, but it would be capped at $35 a day or 5 days total (or $175). As that would essentially be a subcompact, and my old car (that I bought the wk2 to replace) still works, I declined coverage. If the 5 day total is a hard rule, i would have had to bring the car back 9 days ago anyway. Right now, its been two weeks and they still can't figure it out. I officially made a claim for them to buy back the vehicle on Friday, and again this morning. This will either start the buy back process or perhaps inspire them to fix my vehicle.

If I look at the list of things that have gone wrong, some small, some material, I have not had the car in either working condition or in the spec that I ordered, for between 80-100% of its short life. Not very inspiring. Luckily, the majority of people do not seem to have had the experience I have had. We will see what happens...

Re: Air Suspension Again

I got a Limited as well, no QL or Power Liftgate for me.

Too many JG forum complaints. This site is with every penny! Whoops ... it's free!

Re: Air Suspension Again

I have two friends who have the limited. No problems whatsoever, but neither of them have elsd, ql or powered liftgate. Real glad I paid extra for those options!
