Oops, I must have misread your post. I'm not familiar with that sound...but I haven't noticed any increase in noise (other than a road or wind as the speed increases) when over 60.

Re: Air Suspension Problem - Noise and Not Working

Its hard to hear, took 3 techs before the third finally heard it, but its one of those things that once your tuned into.....its all you hear. Turn the radio off and get the jeep up to 70mph or so and listen for a pinging.

Re: Air Suspension Problem - Noise and Not Working

Well...got call from the svc mgr. Enginerds had them replace the QL module. Once this was complete, a new fault code showed up indicating a leak in the system. The pressure tested the system an did not locate a leak so they ordered the nitrogen refill.

What's interesting is the refill is a single use application...all they do is hook up the tank and the system does the rest.

Anyway, should have her back tomorrow. I asked about over cycling on the compressor and impact to end of life. The svc mgr said he would consult with the engineers but likely it should be ok.

Hopefully this is the last time I have to deal with the issue.

So I waited and restarted the jeep and same thing...also it would not raise past off road level 1. I called the dealer and they said they would look into and and get back to me tomorrow. I'll post an update when I hear anything.
Once again you seem to be trailing in my exact footsteps. I feel for ya man.

Haha, right behind you. Hopefully that takes care of yours so I can pass that on to the dealer.

Do you remember when you got your jeep? I'm pretty sure mine arrived in October.

Re: Air Suspension Problem - Noise and Not Working

Thanks for the updates guys. I stopped by a local dealer during lunch and they told me the noise is normal, and all of them do that. Its the air being discharged, etc.... although he also had to ask me what button does he push to raise and lower the car.

>_<

one11sgt - The sound you are talking about above 60mph is not what i have... that sounds like it would suck though! I know what you mean about annoying sounds driving you crazy. My sound is mainly heard when lifting the car up.

I took a few videos of the noise (can only be heard from inside the car, not out!). I will post the best video that captures the sound to youtube later today and post back.

EDIT: check out the video: i created a new thread about it as well on the main page so we can get other overland owners to chime in as to whether the sound is normal.

Hey, tried to reply to your PM but apparently i don't have enough posts yet. I'm almost there...., this counts as another.

Now to go make two more pointless posts in other people's threads...

Did this latest trip fix everything? I'm suppose to drop mine off tomorrow so hopefully that will be my last trip for this.

Re: Air Suspension Problem - Noise and Not Working

Yep. They replaced the module an refilled the tank. Works like new. It's amazing how fast the system is when it's working properly...almost forgot what it was like.

2weeks now and no issues. Good luck

Did you ever get this resolved? I have experienced the same thing. Once you hear it, it drives you crazy.

I hear the exact same ping as in the video posted on YouTube. This was discussed in another thread and someone commented that these types of sounds are normal but I agree it is disconcerting. Especially since I had a total QL system failure at only 400 miles...they replaced the control module and compressor last month. I'm at 2100 miles now and QL seems to work fine although I don't use it much. I see the system going into aerodynamic mode but only hear the ping occasionally usually when I'm backing out of a parking space. I plan to ask about the sound when I get my first oil change but that will probably be 2 more months.
