When i raise my suspension to off road 2 setting, the ride quality is horrible. It's very bumpy and just feels like something is wrong. If I go over a speed bump it feels like there is no give in the shocks.
Regular height and aero feel fine.
Is this normal due to amount pressure in the shock? I understand my wheels do not help either but thought I would ask if others experienced this.
yep kind of a useless explained feature, its not designed to be driven at speeds more to clear obsticles i guess suspension travel is lost due to the extra air pressures to raise the vehicle.

Off-Road 2 (OR2) (Raises the vehicle approximately 2.6 in (65 mm) – This position is intended for offroading use only where maximum ground clearance is required.
Because bill here in aust we are used to lifted cars for offroad use. The so called offroad jeep fails in this area when compared to nissan and toyota of which are more dedicated to offroad use.
I think you're comparing oranges and tomatoes. The Jeep system is meant for temporary use when needed and isn't the same as a dedicated body or suspension lift like the Nissan's or Toyota's likely have. You can probably get the same type of lift for the Jeep, though.
I take my JGC off-road a lot over many obstacles and have very rarely needed OR2. I treat it the same as I do lockers on my Wrangler - engage only when needed and disengage as soon as you have cleared the obstacle. That being said and especially since you are in Australia- I did install a kit from llams to allow me to recalibrate my Quadralift system and run at a little bit sweeter spot between OR1 and OR2 which gives me a bit more clearance without the hard harshness and I can maintain that height at speeds between 25-40mph.
Snipe315,
I am an air-suspection noob; have you snooped around the JGC air system components much? I ask because it sure seems like we ought to be able to tap off the system for air in the field.
I am aware this system is a closed system which results in fast response, but when starting or turning off the vehicle the system "airs up" and "airs down", respectively. Seems like we ought to be able to get some shop air when the vehicle is running but parked.
The QuadraLift is a closed nitrogen system that just redistributes the fixed amount it contains between its reservoir and the four shocks. There is no "air" being released or replenished in the system to tap off of.
I keep a 5lb CO2 tank with a 150psi regulator in the Grand for airing back up plus a Viair 450p compressor that I take as a slower backup and to loan to others needing to air up also.
