Re: Alarming Alarm Issue

Today I pick it up my JGC, here are the parts and diagnose, accoridng to the invoice:

Alarm issue: ALARM GOING OFF BY ITSELF CHECK WITH SCAN FIND TRUNK LIFTGATE STATUS OPEN AND B259E-OO ACTIVE ALL TIME.

PARTS:
68083083AA and 5KT49DX9AD

REMOVE AND REPLACE LIFTGATE LICENSE LAMP BAR ASSY MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE INSTALL NEW, ERASE CODE, TEST ALARM - OK NO CODE RESET

I hope this info can help you, but that I read, you will need more that change the parts, a error code must be erase in the computer .

Re: Alarming Alarm Issue

I bought my Grand Cherokee Limited about a month ago. Everything has been fine except for this morning the alarm went off. I park right underneath my 2nd floor condo living room and when it went off I jumped up and looked out the window within a few seconds. No one was anywhere near the vehicle so without question, I can say the alarm went off all by itself for absolutely no reason. I grabbed by key fob and pressed the panic button but that just made the alarm sound more rapidly. So then I pressed the unlock button and it stopped. Then I pressed the lock button. I have not been outside yet to check the lock status of the doors and hatch.

Update: Just had the second instance of my alarm going off for no reason at all. This time I called my dealer to tell him about it and the service guy said he will do some research to see if there are any technical bulletins out on the issue and if so what is the recommended solution. I'll post an update when I hear back from him.
