I know it gets a lot of bad press, but I have it in a 2013 Fusion, and frankly believe the voice recognition is more integrated than the JGC - works everytime for me. There is only a single VR button instead of separate phone/everything else VR buttons the JGC has. It has quirks, but I haven't had it lock up - it did reboot once. I would no reservations with Fords if I liked their styling as much as the JGC.

Before the GX460, I owned a GX470 and put 100,000 miles on it without making any repairs (other than replacing worn out brakes). I would highly recommend buying a Lexus. I've also owned 2 Infiniti's which have also been very reliable. I also recommend Infiniti, although the dealer service is not as good as the service at the Lexus dealers.
Lexus truly does have amazing, industry-leading service. My wife's 11-year-old RX has been absolutely bullet proof. And customer service is unbelievably good. But man they are expensive.

Thanks everyone.

I actually got the Jeep back today. They told me that even though they are calling Chrysler to get them to take it back, I still had to take my Jeep back, since it was technically fixed. Turned in the loaner. We will see how it goes.

Does this mean you might be keeping it?

This was just part of the process, for us too. We had to take it back as fixed and do the other negotiations separately.

Hope it is fixed though. Ours has been great for a month now, except we can no longer get it to remember our individual driver settings anymore since I posted about suddenly losing all settings and apps.

What I meant by that is I really can't see chrysler doing a buyback for a vehicle having one repair visit and its fixed. I know he had the previous vehicle that was had problems but that doesn't have anything to do with this one. If its really fixed I really don't see them buying it back. Normally for a buyback they follow the lemon law rules for that state.

Still pushing for them to take it back. They told me they had called Chrysler several times today...

I small portion of me thinks, hey, I can keep this awesome vehicle.

Then I think about planning a trip where I drive down the coast with the family, drive onto a beach, and vacation for a long weekend. If any of you all were in my shoes, would you take this vehicle on a long road trip, with minor off-roading, with two young kids?

amc man, you and I should raise a toast once this is all said and done, and we are in stable vehicles.

You are right, and I can't really answer how Chrysler is going to respond. Never been through anything like this before.

If I thought it was fixed, I would definitely keep it; it's a really nice vehicle.

He might have to keep it. I don't see how this would be a buyback. A buyback is a rare thing for vehicles that cannot be repaired or ones that qualify for the lemon law. If auto companies did buyback's for vehicles with one repair and it was fixed they would be out of business. I would be very suprised if it happened in this case.

He could just trade it in/sell it if he really wanted to get rid of it, so he wouldn't HAVE to keep it. I do, however, agree with your statement that it is unlikely that marosenb's Jeep will be bought back (at this point at least).

I would push the dealer perhaps to get yet another one. You have so few miles on it they could sell it as a demo. Last alternative, lease trader. But no way in hell would I take it on a trip until I had a solid month with no issues.

My wife said today too bad we can't keep ours now since it seems OK. But then she told me that it is not holding driver settings at all anymore. So I guess it isn't OK.

Definitely marosenb, you and I need to get together and share a drink when this is all over.
