Somebody at Jeep may make a decision based on a human factor. I agree a buy back is not technically warranted, but how much do you put a customer through?

Yeah, but it has not only forgotten, but now it refuses to remember as well. It won't remember any individual driver settings.

Re: And so it continues...

Well, I drove it around for a while today... put like another 100 miles on it(Up to 500 miles total)

2 things to Note: 1. The JGC is nicer than a lot of other vehicles out there. 2. It is still not quite right. 2 messages from my Jeep today: Vehicle Phone requires service, call Dealer - this was on the 8.4 in screen, and the Evic told me to service the air suspension. Both happened at the same time, and both went away after I restarted it.

Phone need service message with red light on the rear view mirror indicates possible bad phone card requiring radio replacement. If you continue to get the message try to get a pic of it for the service dept. Have you registered with Uconnect and tried the Assist button to call Uconnect? If not, it may show that you're not registered with Uconnect when using the assist button. If so call the # indicated for an OTA fix for that problem.

Thanks AZhiCntry! The red light was on, and I am already registered with Uconnect. I have not tried the assist button at all.

I understood the radio was new? Anyway I'm sure you read my post concerning water damage.I would be concerned what other components were damaged or as with electronics what was weakened by the water. Nobody knows.
Good Luck with it but I would push for a replacement of refund.

There has been some success working with UConnect to get the unregistered errors fixed.

How would it damage anything else? All the modules and circuits are protected. that's pretty basic electronics.

Circuits are protected under normal circumstances. The water changed all that. You can have a blown fuse and put in water and it will conduct electricity. Pretty basic electronics involves a positive and negative. Cross it with water and all that changes. Positive charges can be sent through the negatives and possibly through out the vehicle.Circuits, circuit boards, relays etc. can be damaged or weakened. He had problems with the radio which I understood they replaced and now he is getting error messages.
With the high amperage in a 12v system you short a harness or circuit just the right way, such in the case of this water damage and the harness will melt before it blows a fuse.

The protections are for abnormal things like something shorting out or a power spike. I don't think one module going bad from some water would cause other ones to also go bad.

Re: And so it continues...

The modules that have been replaced control and are connected to almost every system in the vehicle. Did they damage anything else from the short from the water? Nobody can answer that. It went into the head unit. How do they know it didn't damage the braking or tranny modules ?
I really hope you are able to sort this out with Chrysler and your dealer.
