Crossing my fingers for you.

I took a train up to Greenwich yesterday to pick up the CR-V. I was in and out of the dealership in 30 minutes. Even gave me a full tank of gas.

They tried getting an extra $369 from me at the last minute. A quick call to my broker and I was back to the original deal.

I really like the CR-V. It's roomy, peppy, surprisingly sporty, a lot like our old Forester.

Yeah, it's an appliance, but if it is as reliable as I expect it will be, we will deal with driving an appliance for a while.

That's not the Jeep, that's the awful GY Fortera tires (well, it's Jeep's fault for choosing them). I have a slow leak in one of mine that started at 300 miles.

Hopefully that is the worst issue you will have from here on out.

Good luck with it AMC, hope it is problem free, and you get to enjoy it!

Thanks JeepGCOverland, I hope so... still driving around on the spare, gotta bring it in for a new one. If I owned the Jeep, and was happy with the reliability, I would put some better rubber on it

Good luck with the CR-V. My wife had a 2008 and a 2011 CR-V and they were great. Very reliable with no issues whatsoever. She is now leasing a new Ford Escape which she loves. I guess she just wanted a change.

My broker did the deal based on $1K out the door, including first month's payment.

When I got there, they tried to tell me no, it's $1K PLUS first month's payment. Given that all the other numbers were the same (money factor, residual, # of payments), it was "bonus money" for them. One of the reasons my broker got the deal at this particular dealer (90 minutes away) was because he talked them out of all but about $100 of their holdback. An extra $369 and they're getting a good chunk of that back.

So I called the broker and he said, "kind of a dirty trick."

Really really really glad I had him on my side. There is no way I could ever have gotten this deal without him negotiating for me. I will never buy or lease another car myself again. Broker is the way to go, assuming you don't care what dealership you're buying from.

Thanks! I think the Escape is probably a lot more fun/nice to drive. We just needed something as close in interior size to the GC as we could get. No matter how much we come to love our CR-V, I am sure we will be wanting a change after a while as well. After all, it's still really just an appliance. The GC has soul, and even the Escape does as well I think...

Don't you want to move on and try to enjoy your jeep? I know you had some issues, but now that it seems they have been resolved why continue to dwell on it. A flat tire could happen from running over a nail in the street. You still have a youtube video attached to your posts. I think its time to move on and hope that you don't have and more problems.

Does he only work around NY? Would you mind PMing me his info too and what his costs were, etc?

If it had happened to you...you'd get it.
