for all the people are posting about how good there jeep is now and how they haven't had one problem in order to in a sense dis credit or make the problems others are having to seem minimal you are doing the same thing Chrysler is doing. This is a problems section of the forum this is why it is there, as scott said they have made 200k plus of these trucks of course you are going to get a few bad ones.
I don't think AMC has posted in here in over a month but I did PM him a while back and we certainly discussed all of the issues. I don't think anyone was trying to discredit a person with issues because they have none either.

In any event, I agree with Willx, posting trash in this forum will get you absolutely nowhere. For every beratement you post, there are 500 accolades from happy Jeep owners. I sincerely hope you are successful in getting your issue resolved.
Mine was one of the first built, yes. WOOPS, I made a mistake purchasing it.

As for lemon law, the dealer has put me in a position such that they've manipulated the system. In order to qualify for buyback, the vehicle must go in for the same repairs three times over, be out of commission for over 30 days, and have less than 12,000 miles. In short, my dealer has two invoices open, in total, for the over 47 days my vehicle has been out of commission, invoices kept open due to the number of parts on backorder.

Matter two, I have been getting strung along for a month and a half being told there would be a buyback offered to me, and that the terms would allow me to go out and buy something non-Chrysler. I need that, since I require a vehicle capable of towing, and my only two Chrysler options are the WK2 and the WD, both one in the same. I'd rather not have another. As such, I need to be able to buy a different brand of vehicle.

Matter three, by stringing me along for so long, I am now past 12,000 miles (I drive a lot).

In all, as noted in the first paragraph, I no longer 'formally' qualify for the buyback, but only because I've been strung along for so long. As a result, I'm made to feel like someone is doing me this grandiose favor by buying this vehicle back. It is a horrific vehicle, it will either kill me or someone else with its adaptive cruise and braking gremlins, but they're doing me a favor agreeing to buy it back.

THEN COME THE TERMS... I'm being penalized for my mileage, I MUST buy another Chrysler product, and that Chrysler product needs to be within "a thousand or so dollars of my current vehicle". Buying another Chrysler, ok, fine, everyone posting on their late-build WK2 in the forums seem pleased. "Wait wait, mileage penalty?"

The mileage penalty is an algorithm...

Purchase Price X Current Mileage / 100,000

In my case, I owe them $6400.

So... I have to buy another Chrysler, I have to pay about the same money for the new vehicle, I'm getting dinged for my accrued miles... And HOW is Chrysler losing out here? How are they doing me any favor?

Everyone sees the next best option for me as trading out of it. I can't... I'm upside-down in it.

So, until proper remedy is offered (read, no mileage penalty AT LEAST), I remain seething with animosity.

The fact is Chrysler has terrible customer service, most of there employees (ive shopped in both ny and nj at almost every dealer as well as serviced in both) are TERRIBLE. service people don't know anything and play stupid for when you have a problem and the sales teams think its your honor to buy from them. bad buying experience + bad service= customer never coming back and for all you guys who will say I don't know what im talking about I come from a group of friends who own dealerships and of course I couldn't have a friend who owns a Chrysler or jeep lol.
Amen.

In any case, if my actions seem brash, realize, I've been getting dicked around by this auto maker for a long time now on this vehicle, it has gotten personal- this is just the point I've been pushed to.

Folks are taking my problems quite personally, to the degree I am convinced Chrysler LLC is involved a great deal more than meets the eye (queue Transformers segway theme song).

Why am I reacting this way? They shouldn't be selling these (even as the new Cherokees are still on hold) until all the demons are adequately worked out, lest they continue to defame themselves. Man-made or not, these men chose to let others buy these inferior vehicles. There is NO WAY someone wasn't aware of things like, say for example, the wheel arch moldings that fall off- the SRT WK2 has had this problem since the beginning!

Fix it (buy back the duds), get it right, and don't penalize "early adopters" for your mistakes.

In garbage I was referring to all you posts about bumper stickers and such. I can understand your anger and nobody would want a vehicle with all those problems, but I 'm just not sure your going about this in the most effective way. Clogging up these threads are not going to solve this problem for you. I think you need to get your dealer to help you take your case directly to chrysler.

Are you saying Chrysler is using Jeep Garage to conspire against you? If so I think you are giving your situation more significance to Chrysler than it really has. I don't recall what all your problems are, but if you were able to still put 12,000 miles on the vehicle it was obviously drivable. I can see you paying something for the mileage, but the figure you gave seems way too high. I also disagree with Chrysler's position of requiring you take another
Chrysler product. After this experience, right or wrong, even a perfect Jeep would not satisfy you.

If I was Jeep I might give you a choice. Pay for the mileage and go elsewhere, or take another Chrysler product in an even swap.

Unfortunately, posting about the same problem "here" over and over will let you blow off steam, I doubt it will influence the powers that be at Chrysler.

I think I read you want your account here closed. Why that would matter I don't know. You do have the option to just go away. Within a week or so your posts will mostly be forgotten by everyone here.

Whatever happens, don't get yourself sick over a car. One way or another it will be gone someday and you will get on with your life.

Re: And so it continues...

Just a few observations: My build date was 4/6, and I haven't had it back to the dealer yet, no reason to. Phat and others with problems definitely have my sympathy, I've had a lemon. Every manufacturer builds it's share of lemons. Every car company has some dealers that aren't worth squat. What happens is, I think, some come to the forum to complain about problems, either manufacturer or dealer, or both. The forum is a great place to vent. When a poster becomes repetitious with bad news posts, people start to tune them out. If the posts contain just vitriol about the manufacturer or dealer, members don't feel like they can help anymore. Many here truly want to assist, but there is only so much someone on a forum can do to help. After a while those threads die a natural death. I think Will has given some good advice about a dedicated thread dealing with the specific problems. Just general animosity against the company and it's representatives only has satisfied members trying to show the good side, and other, unhappy members, complaining. Nothing is accomplished. Congrats to the happy owners, and condolences to those who aren't. I hope you can resolve your problems, or get out from under a vehicle you're not happy with.

No.

The defensiveness is suspicious, however.

I'm done. I won't bother anyone.

Sorry, deleting as much as I can later, then changing my password to something I won't remember.

Phat,

I think Jacko puts it better than I can.

Also, if you choose to leave, that is your choice but please understand that we are willing to listen and assist but we are limited in those fashions mentioned above.

Trust you me though, I am not in any way connected to Chrysler and other than a couple of people on here who don't have anything to do with your issues, nobody is.

Even those here who do have direct ties to Chrysler sympathize with you, so please don't lump us in with those people at Corporate you are unhappy with!

Again, I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm not looking for anyone here to do anything for me. Merely, I am telling my story. For anyone to suggest otherwise... I don't get it. I thought I was alone in the issues I am experiencing with my vehicle, until I came here.

Again, sorry, I'm just a 'nice guy' who's been taken advantage of. I'll keep it to myself.
