GC you just have to keep looking I was just like you I thought they were all rotten and was disgusted. the one I go to now reminds me more of a premium foreign one, tile service lanes, new, modern, clean, efficient and no bullshit! other ones reminded me of a trashed used car lot with people with attitudes pounding on green screens from 30 years ago that treated you like an idiot. there are good ones out there they are just few and far between. should you have to hunt around like that to be treated right, NO but unfortunately that's the way it is with this manufacturer. if this one is no good then on to the next, I can relate to what you are going through with the dealers, good luck.

Sounds like an opportunity for a service that takes care of everything for you from picking it up at your home to returning it & a professional would have arrangement with dealers to get service a quickly as possible.

That said my son just received yet anoter recall notice for his '13 Nissan, seems like nearly one every month.

It's not reasonable to expect the level of service you get from BMW. it's not a luxury car dealer, and the labor rates and service prices reflect that. What you should be able to expect is prompt, courteous, competent service without many frills. I'd be thrilled with that!

Fingers crossed!

Re: Another Service Experience, Another Rant

I've been to multiple dealerships for service was well. The experience is always the same. They always seem like I'm inconveniencing them. When I get the car back only one of the 3 or 4 issues is usually solved. So I've taken my car in for service over a dozen times in one year of ownership for the same 3 or 4 issues. The other problem is that the techs can never think for themselves. They have 0 ability to diagnose an issue with a car. Anything they do must be previously documented by Chrysler engineers. This is why they always try to do a software update on a transmission issue that is clearly a mechanical problem.

I just had a valve body replaced in my transmission but it took 6 trips to two dealers in the DC area and an email to Chrysler to get it done. Even then, I had to escalate my situation with Chrysler's resolution team. Now if only I could get them to actually fix my suspension issues... Maybe by the time my warranty is up, I will have a properly working vehicle. Here's to a dozen more trips to the dealer.

I say all of this to sympathize with the OP... I don't think I will be purchasing another Chrysler after this. The car is fine, but the service just sucks. If they would have just fixed my issues upon my first visit, I don't think I would have any negative thoughts. I realize that my Audi's parts prices are higher, but when I take it to the dealer I can rest assured that the car will be fixed when I get it back. At least that has been my experience at all of the VW/Audi dealerships I've used in multiple states...

That being said... all dealerships suck. If there isn't something in it for them, they wont do anything, which makes customer service feel like its long gone.
