True. Especially in the winter if your car is left outside overnight. I don't recall hearing anyone with a 16 complaining.

Well not yet anyway, most guys on the forum haven't had them very long yet. My 2015 just started doing it recently at 4,000 miles.

I couldn't tell you as I've never looked. My assumption would be that it does. And yes, having had the shift problem on my 14 I'm not convinced that it couldn't also pop up on my 16 so I'll pay attention to that.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

I diconnected the battery earlier this evening. I will let it sit overnight and reconnect tomorrow early afternoon before I leave for work. Not that I'm overly confident it will have any effect on my2-3 shift, but can't hurt to try.
I have my appointment to take it in Friday morning for the recalls, software updates, and I'll mention the 2-3 shifting.
I'll report back tomorrow afternoon to see if the extended battery disconnect has any effect b

I had to wait a few weeks for my appointment with their tranny techs. It is not until 7/12.

Good luck with the disconnect. Hope it works

Took delivery of a 2014 EcoDiesel on 6/16/16. I had it at the dealer for the state inspection and b/c the MIL was on. Got it back yesterday and the paperwork noted the dealer "resolved" the MIL with PCM flash according TSB 18-042-16. According to the link TSB 18-042-16 applies to Export and covers Euro emissions. After 2 mile ride this morning, the MIL is back on. Curious if anyone knows if it's even possible to apply flash update meant for export models?

For those that were curious, an extended 15+ hour battery disconnect does nothing to how the transmission shifts.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

well that's not good. if you are current on flashes sounds like you go the standard progression for the 845RE of new valve body and upon failure of that then new transmission.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

The only problem with that is that others have gone that route and the new tranny still doesn't solve the problem. So you go through the hassle of worrying that they screw something else up when replacing the tranny, and the problem still isn't solved.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

that's crazy so there is no real defined fix just guessing. if it is bad enough that passengers notice and comment on it when they ride in the vehicle like hes reporting, I would not consider that a minor issue and jeep needs to fix it and if they cant then its a lemon.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

I still suffer from the harsh 2-3 when cold. Was hoping they had some updated software hidden in the recall for the shifter. No such luck. Had the dealer reset TCM adaptives,(whatever that is), and relearn the tranny one more time today. Will let you guys know the outcome after driving tomorrow am.

Bummer. I was hoping it was going to work.
