JTS, how did things go with the dealer? Or are you having to leave it with them over the weekend?

Well, it seems that this time relearning the tranny has done nothing to correct the problem. I am really getting discouraged with this situation as well as Chrysler as a whole.

As a long time customer buying many jeeps as well as other Chrysler vehicles, I am seriously considering trading my vehicle and abandoning them. While it isn't a major problem, I am disgusted with the fact that after several years they still can't get this problem corrected. My dealer says the next thing they will try is a new tranny. After knowing that there is no way that a new tranny will be installed exactly like the one from the factory, as well as it appears others that had their tranny replaced still have the problem, I'm at wits end.

If you still like the GC rather than take a chance on another 845RE you could trade in on a v8 or diesel.

I love my GC. This is my fifth one. While I'm aware that I could trade it for the Hemi or diesel, IMO, my six has more than enough power, and why should I take a bath because Chrysler can't get their head out of their ass and get the damn problem taken care of? If I am going to trade, it will not be for another Jeep.

I hear you and agree I would not put up with that either. I have had a number of what I consider minor issues all resolved but the drivetrain has been solid. If I would have had those issues plus unresolved trans issues that people have been reporting I would have already left even though my goal is always to keep a car 10 years. Resolved issues are one thing but that trans issue has been going on for 3.5 years and still being reported. Hope it works out for you.

No clue yet, I haven't heard a word yet. I'm still rockin that Renegade lol. Ugh I cant stand 4 cylinders haha. I dropped my Jeep off at 10am on Friday so I kind of assumed they would have it all weekend. I am expecting that I will hear something tomorrow, although being the 4th I'm not sure, but I guess maybe dealerships are open I dont know.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Got a call from my dealership today with an update on my Jeep. They are gonna have the thing longer than I thought, but that's fine since they put me in a loaner. Sounds like I might be in this Renegade until Saturday. Based off what he said today I like the sounds of what they are doing so far though as far as the work goes.
Like I said before it was for two recalls, harsh 2-3 shift, intermittent rear speaker pop when opening or closing a door, inoperative auto high beams, loose rear seat backs, heated seat TSB.
He said the recalls are done, the heated seat TSB has been applied. He said for some reason the auto high beams were never set up from the factory on mine so they are doing a re-calibration. To my surprise the tech actually heard the loud speaker pop and said they are replacing the amplifier. I am surprised though because of just how intermittent it is (like once a month). I might be out of luck on the seat back issue with the rear seats. He said they messed with several new Grand Cherokees on the lot and they all had varying levels of movement. Some with a little play, some pretty solid. That one wasn't a huge deal to me anyway, but since it was in I told him about it. The harsh 2-3 shift was definitely felt by the tech and they have a new valve body on order which will arrive on Thurs. I had a interior blower motor squealing issue but that only happens in the dead of winter so I didn't think they would do anything with that.
So far everything sounds good and I like the sounds of whats going on so far. I will say though I'm dying to get my High Altitude back as I cant stand this Renegade POS. If I find one more damn Jeep grill logo in another random spot I'm gonna lose it LOL. No but seriously, have any of you sat in a new Renegade? There is literally the Jeep grill logo EVERYWHERE inside and out. That and I just cannot stand 4 cyl vehicles. Sounds terrible, it shakes like crazy at idle, don't like the seats, don't like the tranny, hate the center console layout. Everything just feels so cheap which I understand is expected because its a cheap vehicle afterall, but definitely not my cup of tea.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like changing the valve bodies are the first step in all this. Guess I need to factor in a few days for a valve body being ordered.

Also sounds like you have a great dealership!

Got my Jeep back yesterday and I can say it shifts like new after the valve body change and relearn procedure. Makes you kind of wonder what the heck is wrong with the valve bodies in the V6 transmissions that go bad after some miles. Hopefully this one lasts. I'm happy with he work the dealership did fixing the harsh 2-3 shift as well as a few other things. It's nice to be back in my HA.

I was happy with my new valve body and relearn too. Hopefully, yours won't take a crap after several months as mine did.

I'm awaiting word from Chrysler as to what they want to try next.

Glad it worked out for you. I drop off Monday and they will drive it Tues morn. I hope to report something back by Tues evening.

Does anyone know what is involved with the valve body replacement? Is it dropping the pan and replacing all the fluid or is it something else?

From what I understand, they do just drop the pan, change the valve body, and add fluid. I was able to wait while my dealer did it. Only took about 1 1/2 hours.
